Will any Mefites be attending the True/False Film Festival in Columbia, MO next week? There are tons of great films this year (as there are every year), but perhaps we can find a time to check in!
DS9 documentary at Regal Union Square
What We Left Behind, the documentary about Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, is playing in theaters on Monday, May 13th. Want to see it at Regal Union Square Stadium 14? (There are other NYC locations too in case you just want to see it by yourself.) Buy your ticket ahead of time via Fathom Events.
Cat Video Festival. Meow!
Everything is better with cats. There was some interest at the Ice Cream Social to attend this. Who wants to go?
FWIW, "early bird" ticket pricing ends August 1st for the $10 tickets. After that they go up to $15.

HAA! Launch Party and Animation Mixer and Screening
My sister Tess Martin (MeFi's own) is launching her new non-profit arts booster organization this Friday: Haptic Animation Amplifier. She's curated a Pacific Northwest Animation Showcase at the NorthWest Film Forum on Capitol Hill this week, and on Friday the animation fun will culminate with her launch party at 6 PM. This event is free and open to the public and will feature fun animation stations for adults to get their artistic and silly groove on. Libations available. [more inside]
The Apu Trilogy at E Street Cinema
Satyajit Ray's Apu Trilogy was recently restored and is currently showing at the E Street Cinema. On Saturday, June 27, I'm going to do a triple feature, starting at 4:30 PM and finishing just shy of midnight. Do any DC-area MeFites have the interest and gluteal fortitude to join me?

Seattle International Film Festival - Whisperer in Darkness
Who's up for a drink followed by some Lovecraftian horror? Whisperer in Darkness is coming to the Seattle International Film Festival, with showings on June 3 at midnight and on June 5 at 9 - rather boringly I favour the 9 o'clock showing as I have to bve tucked up in bed by midnight but I am open to arguments.

Home Movie Day
Dig up your old home movies to bring and show, or just come and watch other peoples' films! This year Los Angeles has two venues for showcasing home movies: 8mm, 16mm, Super8 can be screened at the Echo Park Film Center, while VHS movies can be shown in Culver City at the Mayme Clayton Library.
