Seattle International Film Festival - Whisperer in Darkness

Sun June 5 at 8:00 PM, Finn Mac Cool, moving to the Neptune Theatre for 9pm
4217 University Way NE, Seattle, WA, USA (Map & Directions)
Who's up for a drink followed by some Lovecraftian horror? Whisperer in Darkness is coming to the Seattle International Film Festival, with showings on June 3 at midnight and on June 5 at 9 - rather boringly I favour the 9 o'clock showing as I have to bve tucked up in bed by midnight but I am open to arguments.
We can probably do the 5th.
However, how will we be able to find each other in a crowd of non-affiliated nerds?

Well, I was thinking we could gaver at a nearby drinking establishment first.

Gaver is one of those freaky UK words, isn't it? Don't try and fool me, I've seen the Proclaimers on multiple occaisions.

Do I need to have read or seen any background material to appreciate this? I've never read any Lovecraft, although I have played Arkham Horror and Necronomicon.
Are you going to change this to real, non-proposed meetup status?

Done! I settled on Finn Mac Cool - seems like an okay place to meet up for pre-show drinks. Please remember that you'll have to order and (I think) pick up your tickets ahead of time.

Well, you could read the story, but going in cold is probably more fun.

Looks like dvorak_beats_qwerty isn't making it either.
No worries, I'll probably still pop along to the pub to see if anyone turns up and then head on to the show regardless.

Hmm. Should I mark this as cancelled? Actually, how do I do that?

Well that was great fun - there was a Q & A and I got to chat with Andrew Leman a little too. The movie is fantastic, thought the purist in me does baulk a little at the changes.

Oh, and dvorak_beats_qwerty made it in the end - that counts as a meetup, right? :-)
Apparently he's mastered the creepy old man laugh and is using it to terrify co-workers. Trust me, the creepy old man laugh is pure nightmare fuel.
