Sat October 16 at 12:00 PM, Echo Park Film Center
1200 N Alvarado St, Los Angeles, CA, USA (Map & Directions)
Dig up your old home movies to bring and show, or just come and watch other peoples' films! This year Los Angeles has two venues for showcasing home movies: 8mm, 16mm, Super8 can be screened at the Echo Park Film Center, while VHS movies can be shown in Culver City at the Mayme Clayton Library. Here is more info about the Los Angeles events.
I can only add one location to this map, so I added the venue where I'll actually be, but here's the address for the Westside Video Edition:
Mayme A. Clayton Library and Museum
4130 Overland Ave.
Culver City CA 90230
Noon-4:00pm
If you have films to bring, check-in begins at 11am. Archivists (like me!) will be there to inspect your film to make sure it's good to show, and we'll offer tips on how to keep your original materials in tip-top shape for as long as possible, or places where you can have your material transferred to digital formats.
Home Movie Day is a world-wide event, so even if you don't live in LA, you should check this page for other locations all over the world taking place (mostly) on the same day.
