Lesbian potluck!

Sat June 8 at 2:00 PM, Dolores Park
Mission Dolores Park, Dolores St &, 19th St, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States (Map & Directions)
Looking for new lesbian friends in SF! I’d like to set up a recurring small group to have meals together and hopefully form a friend group. Not looking for dates or romance. First iteration June 8 at Dolores Park (perhaps near the playground) at 2pm. Bring a picnic blanket or towel in case we can’t find a table, and bring something that you want to eat, with a little extra to share if you are able.
I’m a late-blooming lesbian and I don’t have many lesbian friends yet, though I do have a wonderful partner. It seems hard to form friendships in adulthood, and even harder to meet other lesbians outside of the dating scene.

My partner told me about (and I’ve read about) the old lesbian potlucks that used to happen in the 70s and 80s. I’m interested in that kind of event, maybe on an ongoing basis. The perfect group size would be 6-8 people, I think. I’d be happy to host either at my apartment or my building has an event space, or maybe it could be a picnic in one of the great parks we have in SF. I don’t drive and ideally we would meet somewhere accessible and easy to get to.

I’d love to meet women near my own age (I’m in my early 40s) but wouldn’t think of limiting the group by age or any other filter except people who identify as lesbians.

That's me... Roughly what dates were you thinking of and where in the city are you located?

I am right near Powell station downtown but am also public-transit flexible. :)

I’m a lesbian who likes potlucks. Happy to join in should the details work out. I live in the Sunset but can get anywhere in the city.

I’m flexible about dates. Ideally it would be a recurring thing, perhaps monthly. How does next Sunday June 2 work for anyone, perhaps at Golden Gate or Dolores Park? I think both are relatively accessible, and if anyone has special requirements you could let me know privately so I could try to make sure they are met.

If we each bring something we are able to eat, with a little extra to share, then everyone would have food that they can have, and that should make planning for dietary requirements easier.

Maybe plan to spend a couple hours total? No commitment to future events if the group vibe doesn’t work for someone either.

That date likely does not work for me (family commitment) but I'm happy to meet later in the month or join the next occurrence. Thumbs up for either GGP or Dolores Park.

June 2 was only a suggestion. I don’t have anything going on the weekend after either. Maybe people could say dates that might work for them. I do work during the weekday and I suspect most of us do.

We have a small group, so maybe we can find a time and place that works for everyone. How about Dolores Park at 2 pm on either June 8 or 15. How does that work for folks?

I suppose it’s not helpful but either of those days works for me. Perhaps we can bias toward sooner and nominate the 8th? I’ll update the OP.

I'll be at the playground in a black dress with hummus.

I’ll be in a ridiculously blingy sequined blazer and I’ll have a couple sandwiches and chips or something like that from Trader Joe’s! What a beautiful day out! Don’t forget sunscreen.

I'll wear grey jeans and some kind of dark top, and be running a little late.

We’ve set up camp in the shade on the edge of the playground.

That was so fun! 👏👏👏 For those who couldn’t make it this time, we talked about doing it again in a month or so.
