Fri December 19 at 7:00 PM, Martha's Exchange
185 Main Street, Nashua, NH, USA (Map & Directions)
Southern Northern New England Mefites: December 19 at 7PM at Martha's Exchange in Nashua! Reservation is under my name, "Erin."
I'll make the reservation in the next couple of weeks so we have some time for numbers to fluctuate.
The Friday seems to work better for more people. Cross your fingers for nice weather!

nooooo
we are getting in super super late on the 23rd, so I don't think we'd be able to make it. IF the 26th could work, we'd be around then, but of course, that may not work for you, in which we will merely weep, bereft.

Alas! My family Christmas celebration is the 26th, and we're reconciling with Republican family who refused to interact with us post-2012 election, so I should probably prioritize that. I assume people are busy on the 24th.

Maybe brunch on the 24th? Family time and Yankee Swap is happening in the afternoon/evening, but earlier in the day could work! Obviously, though, you should feel free to organize around other folks' schedules, but if all else fails, likeatoaster and I would be up for an Eve-Day lunch-type-thing!
posted by Greg Nog at 8:57 AM on November 2, 2014

I would totally be up for another Nashua meetup. Not sure I could do the 24th though, as I'll be working all day and/or possibly having an awkward Christmas eve dinner with my dad and his wife's family.

I'm likely to be free to attend on any day other than the 25th. This would be my first meetup!

We're going to Philadelphia at some point, probably on the 24th. I could be up for something before that, though.
posted by backseatpilot at 7:26 AM on November 4, 2014

OK, let's plan for definitely before the 24!

I'll be i Nashua with my mom for Christmas. I could possibly make it.

Sticking my name on here so that I'll remember to check - I have a car for a month, so if this happens before I head up to BTV, I might be able to make it.

How about the evening of the 18th at Martha's Exchange at 6:00 PM?
posted by ChuraChura at 10:55 AM on December 1, 2014

Weather permitting, I could make the 18th, though I'd probably be late.
posted by Rustic Etruscan at 1:01 PM on December 1, 2014

I would hold down the fort, weather permitting.
posted by ChuraChura at 1:14 PM on December 1, 2014

I might be able to come if a) the weather holds and b) you guys plan to be around a while, as I can almost definitely not make 6pm since I work until 7 just outside Boston. I'll make a more solid decision the week of the 18th.
posted by maryr at 10:41 PM on December 1, 2014

I'll go ahead and push it back to 7PM. I hope you can make it, maryr!

I would love to come but heading up to Nashua on a Thursday night after work might be tough. I'll play it by ear and hope to come.
posted by bondcliff at 6:15 AM on December 2, 2014

I'll be there unless the weather is awful (driving down from Concord area).

Yikes I'm glad I happened to glance at the upcoming IRL sidebar, or I would have missed this somehow! A weeknight may be tricky but I'm gonna try to make it. I was thinking fondly about the 2012 Nashua pre-Christmas meetup just the other day.
posted by usonian at 7:07 AM on December 3, 2014

Is there a general consensus that a Friday night would be better?
posted by ChuraChura at 7:14 AM on December 3, 2014

After speaking to some folks via memail, it looks like Friday at 7 will work better than Thursday at 6, so I've changed the timing! See you in about two weeks!
posted by ChuraChura at 7:10 AM on December 4, 2014

Traffic might still be awful because that is the last Friday before Christmas (so travelers + shoppers) BUT I [crashmycarintothebridgeiwatchediletitburn] don't care, I'm planning on coming.
posted by maryr at 7:51 AM on December 4, 2014 [1 favorite]

Thanks for switching. I couldn't do Thursday at all as I'll be locked in an auditorium watching a middle school concert.

I will try my hardest to be there Friday but given that it's an hour drive it will of course depend on weather, traffic, Moon phases, etc.

If I go I will try to bring some cookies again.

I'm sad I can't make it, but I hope you all have a great time!
posted by Greg Nog at 8:05 PM on December 5, 2014

I am also sad! Let me know if you want to get brunch or something once you arrive in fabulous Manchvegas.
posted by ChuraChura at 3:13 AM on December 6, 2014

Oh hey, now that it's on Friday I can come! Yay!
posted by DiscourseMarker at 7:23 PM on December 7, 2014 [1 favorite]

Damnit Greg Nog, you're going to break the kilted-meetup-in-Nashua streak!

(Friday is better! Barring unforeseen complications such as weather/etc, I will be there. May or may not be kilted.)
posted by usonian at 7:50 AM on December 8, 2014 [1 favorite]

I will also not be kilted. I'm not sure I could pull off a kilt.
posted by bondcliff at 8:24 AM on December 8, 2014

Pull off a kilt in a restaurant and you'll wind up in the hoosegow.
posted by usonian at 10:28 AM on December 8, 2014 [1 favorite]

I don't think any of us want you to be kilt-off.
posted by maryr at 11:24 AM on December 8, 2014

We've got reservations. No one arrive off kilter! Feel free to come even if you haven't said you would - I said somewhere between 7 and 10 people, and they said accommodating more wouldn't be a problem!
posted by ChuraChura at 3:01 PM on December 15, 2014

I might be late, depending on when I get out of work and depending on traffic.

I'll be leaving the western 'burbs of Boston around 5:30 or so, heading up 95 to Rt. 3 to Nashua in case anyone wants to be picked up along the way.
posted by bondcliff at 6:33 AM on December 16, 2014

Ooh, my father, who is The Proud Aardvark, will probably be coming!
posted by ChuraChura at 7:51 AM on December 16, 2014

I enjoyed the last Nashua meetup, but will have to skip this d/t work. Have fun and happy holidays to all!

Cookies are a go.

I must regrettably change my status back to a 'maybe', also work-related. We'll see how the rest of the afternoon goes! :(

Fingers crossed!

Sorry to have backed out at the last minute. I'd rather be with the gang in Nashua, not hanging out at home dealing with this nasty-looking infected leg. I'll raise a glass and knock back a cephalexin ...
posted by in278s at 2:27 PM on December 19, 2014

Had to stay late at work because my co-workers in Brockton took so long to fax their work to me. I'll be late, but I'll be on my way by 6:15.
posted by Rustic Etruscan at 2:28 PM on December 19, 2014

I should be leaving shortly. Google says it will take me about 46 minutes, but that seems optimistic. Fingers crossed!
posted by DiscourseMarker at 3:09 PM on December 19, 2014

By some strange warp of space time it didn't take me as long to get here as I expected so I will probably nurse a beer at the bar if I can mange to squeeze in.

I am an average looking man in average clothing. I will either be sitting or standing and I have two arms, each with five fingers. I am also wearing pants. You'll find me.

Oh, I also have a thing of cookies with foil on top. My name is Jim. But not that Jim.
