San Francisco MeFites! I will be in your city for a few weeks in January, and I would like to meet you. Let's meet up at Rustic Pizza in the Mission at 7 PM on Saturday, January 11th 2014. Be there or be etc.
Oh my goodness so many visiting mefites in January! I am in but I currently have no suggestion for a place. Will think on it.

Just so you know, neither the Connecticut Yankee nor Thee Parkside are exactly BART-adjacent, and while they're both technically South of Market, they're not actually in SOMA, nor are they particularly near the FiDi or Mission Bay. They are on 16th St, so if you're coming from Mission Bay on 3rd, it's not like and impossible trip, but it's either a longish walk or a combination walk and/or Muni (light rail or bus) or BART and bus.

OMG, I just went to Rustic Pizza and it is mere steps from the 24th and Mission Bart station and they have excellent pizza, beer, a back room, and a really great owner! It could be amazing for a meetup is all I'm sayin...

fair point, rtha - Parkside is around a 15 minute walk from the T according to Google. Mission Bay itself has sort of slim pickings for food and beer compared to other neighborhoods, so maybe somewhere more central would be better. I'm a fan of the Dogpatch Saloon at 22nd and 3rd, too, which is directly across from the T, but that might be a bit of a pain for other people in SF to get to.
Anyway, 24th and BART is a pretty easy bus trip for me and Rustic Pizza sounds fun!

The Bocce Ball courts were *supposed* to be open by now, but they aren't - they're still doing work on the back porch. I haven't spoken to Tom (the owner), but his staff person thought it might still be a few weeks til the courts are good to go. The place is still terrific, imo...

I am currently not booked for work for either of those days! And I'm getting tattooed Friday, so I will probably try to not book anything over the weekend anyway.

Okay, so let's say 7 PM at Rustic Pizza on Saturday, Jan 11, unless someone has any strenuous objections to that. I'm gonna change the meetup to confirmed and I'll call in a reservation or something later in the week when we have a better idea of how many people can actually make it.

Since I just learned about this right now, I have to try and get the evening free, so I can't commit 100% yet. However, I've made a recent resolution (the proximity to the new year is merely a coincidence) to make a better effort of spending time with my beloved Mefites, and since I missed Phire the last forty times she was here, I'ma try reeeally hard to make it, ok?

I'd hoped 100% to come to this, but I have a little medical thing on the 10th. I could feel anywhere from "fine with booze" to "bedridden like a Victorian laudenum addict" on Saturday. Obviously, whether I'm vertical will have a lot to do with whether or not @jaybeans and I can come. Fingers and toes crossed!

I called and made a reservation for 10 people for 7 PM. People always drop out and join in at the last minute, so if our numbers change substantially before Saturday night I can always call again and modify it. Ask for Jenny.

Is there an estimated end time, or any interest in doing anything after? I ask because, after driving up from San Jose after work, and looking for parking, it might be 9:00-9:30ish before my girlfriend and I get there. Mission bar is only a block away, so maybe that's an option?

I'm attempting to finish a dark red/black print dress, but we'll see. It still needs buttonholes, buttons, and a hem. And one sleeve. Can't see myself rocking the one sleeve look. Short salt/pepper hair, tattoos. Man, it's way harder to describe myself now that I'm not the one with the blue mohawk.

Thanks to everyone who made it out! I had a total blast and it was so great to meet new people and see old friends again and finally put some faces to some familiar usernames. Bay Area MeFites, you kind of rock. I'll obviously have to come back to see everyone who couldn't make t this time :)
