GDC meetup with hellojed

Mefi's own hellojed is in town this week for the GDC. I was lucky enough to get an evening out with this fine man, and we had such a good time, we decided that we must do it again before he leaves.
He leaves Saturday morning, so if you're free Friday evening, join us! I'm driving up Friday afternoon so that we can visit the Golden Gate Bridge and find some other fun stuff to do. I think Hellojed (or Leo, as he is sometimes called) mentioned wanting to go to Smuggler's Cove for drinks, so if possible, let's do that.
We're open as far as time goes, and if you want to come along to visit the bridge feel free to join!
UPDATE: We're planning on Smugglers Cove at 7pm, and may move someplace close by if it gets too crowded, or if people still want to meet later.

Dang, sounds like fun. Though not enough lead time, alas, for me to juggle plans for this evening. Have fun, mefites! Schedule more stuff like this! hellojed, you're free to fly back next week, right?

I'm supposed to meet a couple friends, who are in town for GDC, for drinks tonight, so I'll see how they feel about People From the Internet and rum. Update when drinks are going to happen!

I should mention my plane leaves at like 6:00 AM (!!!) Tomorrow.
I think we should shoot for...6pm ish? Maybe get dinner or something. Did anyone working the conference want to meet nearby the moscone center?

I took a quick twitter survey and was informed that Smugglers Cove is awesome, but small. I'm thinking 7ish, and then if it gets busier, we can migrate someplace else so others can join. I'll go ahead and update this post to confirm.

So my other gdc plans, which may or may not come together, are at smuggler's cove.
So I guess that means I'm in!
If there's a food plan I'll see whether I get re-energized in time, but I'm totally in for yummy tiki drinks. I am excited to have a Dead Reckoning.

I'm there, it's tiny, & seating even four people together looks really painful. I think that the bar we went to when grouse visited might be a good fallback.

I think we had just about the perfect sized group for that tiny bar! Also, sarahnade gets top prize for ordering the tastiest drink. Hibiscus jelly, or whatever it was. The dead reckoning was pretty close tho.
Thanks for letting us keep you up way past bedtime on the night before your flight, hellojed! Hope you have a nice, uneventful and restful trip back home!
