Performance: The 7th Voyage of Egon Tichy [redux]
I'm seeing the closing night performance of "The 7th Voyage of Egon Tichy [redux]" - a theatrical adaptation of work by Stanislaw Lem - because a friend who knows a lot about scifi and about theater praised it highly. Consider coming too! Maybe we can wave hi and chat about it afterward. Shows are selling out so you should probably grab tickets soon if you're going to come.

My drunken mumblings at MeFieri 2 revealed that I do burlesque, and I'm working on an act that will be at the Slipper Room. Performance: Thanksgiving! A! Pageant!
Thanksgiving! A! Pageant! is a pageant (about Thanksgiving). Join such luminaries as Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, and Jesus the Christ as they tell the story of the first meeting between the godly Pilgrims and those wacky Natives (who didn't even speak English!). Featuring songs, Squanto, Dutch punk teenagers, King James I of England, a dream ballet, and more, this is the real story of how America became... America. But you know like AMERICA. One night only, Thursday, November 29th, 8pm at Ars Nova. Here is a thing to click to get tickets, which are $12, and which are totally worth it, I swear. [more inside]

Performance: A New Cyberpunk Musical Comedy - 2010: Our Hideous Future: The Musical! (Brooklyn, NY)
It’s the way, far future, AD 2010, and it’s a bad time to be human. Freedom fighter Kate Brick plans a final strike against the Artas, artificial life forms who control humankind through torture, brainwashing, and Foursquare. Can Kate and her sometime-lover Dehnise Compuserve make a difference, or is it already too late?
"2010: Our Hideous Future" is a synthpop-infused, queer-friendly musical comedy homage to the great dystopian classics of the 1980s and '90s. It features brilliant riffs on classics like “Blade Runner,” “Max Headroom,” and “The Matrix,” and delightfully twisted tunes like "Near Futuristic Dystopia!" and "Bangor Boogie.”
Tickets ($10) are available online or at the door. We have performances both August 3rd & 4th, although this listing is just for the show on the 3rd. [more inside]
