Fresh off our 3rd anniversary show, Hip Hop Debate is putting on its first show in Astoria, at the brand-new Q.E.D. space!
Veteran improv comedy team Rap Crimes Division and brand-new psychedelic doomsday event Apocalypse Cruiselines EntertainmiX are going to be opening for us. And then? HHD takes the stage! We perform improvised rap battles incorporating audience suggestions, and, whenever possible, audience members themselves. So if you've ever wanted to try freestyling on the mic, here's your chance. I think there's been maybe like one person who tried it who didn't leave the stage grinning from ear to ear. Even if you don't think you're good, we think you're good, and we'll make you look good on the mic. It's what we do.

So come and laugh and maybe play a little with us in a ridiculously supportive (and ridiculous overall) environment. Come late or just stick around because I'll be DJing and live-producing beats after the show. Mics, dancefloors, and booties will be rocked.

Oh, and? This show is totally free. We're strong believers in Hip Hop as the music of the people, be they poor, voiceless, or disenfranchised, so we've got the OK to do this one initial show/concert/party at Q.E.D. completely free of charge. How great is that?

it's gonna be hella epic. I recently bought one of these and I basically spend whatever free time I can summon playing with it.

anyone who's curious can get some samples of my stuff on MeFiMusic or soundcloud. just the tip of the iceberg, tho, really.
