Thu August 23 at 10:00 PM, Triple Crown (in da basement)
330 7th Ave, New York, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
Tired of your local rap battle circuit? Bored with shaming the same fools time and time again? Ready for something higher brow? Step to the Hip Hop Debate.
Instead of the same old "your shoes so wack" dis battles, we take suggestions from the audience (that's you!) and two MCs freestyle the PRO vs. the CON side of the argument.

That's right. This is what you've been waiting for. It's Hip Hop Improv.

And it's also an open mic. Anyone who shows up (that's also you!) can stand on stage with the best of 'em. Last month, someone who's never freestyled at all took home the crown. And this month? We've already confirmed a real-deal legit opera singer will be joining us. It's can't miss. And the next champion could be you.

It's nothing but fun. It's just a friendly debate, right? Everyone's supportive and it's a great time for all (even if you're a first-timer. Especially if you're a first-timer). And, perhaps best of all, I will be laying down all of the beats for the evening (also completely improvised). How? BEATBOXING. Like you've never seen before. Last show featured a PRO/CON space travel debate, backing beat based on the theme to Metroid. Whaaaaat? Want to hear it? Well, too bad! Each show is a once in a lifetime performance, so you won't want to miss a minute.

And you know what the best part is? It's free.

And I'm out. *drops the mic*

If you think you might want to play with us, I encourage you to show up half an hour early for warmups. If nothing else, it'll give you a feel for whether or not you want to compete. And honestly? you might surprise yourself.

Bring yo kids, bring yo wife, bring all y'all friends.
