Hey San Diegans! Let's have a meetup.
Some ideas: Bowling is fun and group-friendly. I've also recently been introduced to the idea of disc golf. Apparently it goes well with beer? Last time we went to Hamilton's--good times (and good grilled cheese sandwiches).
I'm free starting 4/18 (psst, anyone going to Coachella?).

I'm going out of town soon, so if you guys can wait until mid-May, I'd totally be in.
Fair warning: I have my own bowling ball and shoes, and my own disc golf discs, but don't let that intimidate you -- I actually suck at both. :)

Weekends are best for me until mid-May because of classes, but otherwise I am so there. There's a new bowling alley up in Escondido if that's not too far for people?

Yay! How does bowling in Escondido on May 21 sound? I've been to the bowling alleys in Mira Mesa and Kearny Mesa, but it would be nice to go to a less dive-y one.

May 21 sounds good. I live right behind the bowling alley in Mira Mesa, but yes, it is definitely an alley of the old school.

Here's their official site. It looks like they're part of a chain that has a place in downtown SD as well.

That's the one! The food is pretty decent for chain-restaurant pub-fare. I haven't bowled there yet, but it's at least clean and well lit. Loud, but what bowling alley ISN'T?

We also may want to look at reservations, or see if that's worth doing, if we go with the Escondido place - couple of yelp reviews suggest long waits.

I went ahead and confirmed North County Tavern & Bowl at 8pm. Let me know if it'd be easier if time/date/location changes. I'll make a reservation closer to the date :)

Turns out that the reservation list is full and there is no waitlist. They said we can try to do walk-ins, but I don't know how that will go. I also called Mira Mesa Lanes and they said we'd have no trouble going in. Would anyone be opposed if we switched to Mira Mesa? Sorry for the short notice; I should have called in sooner.

Bryan and I are going to walk over and grab some dinner and then lurk in front of the bowling alley for anyone who can still make it. I have curly red hair (like, this is not exactly the color I meant for it to be red) and my husband is wearing a jaunty hat. We both have black shirts on.
