We have once again reached the deepest darkest depths of winter. At this darkest time we will gather to warm our spirits and hearts with a festive Nordic-themed brunch.
Let's celebrate the end of this year and the return of the sun.
Open House style brunch is come when you like, and come as you are! Viking hats optional.
I'll be serving up the usual fare: meatballs, herring, open-faced sandwiches, strong coffee, aquavit, licorice, sweets, and other Nordic delights. Treats and drinks to share are welcome.

That sounds awesome. But alas, I'll be flying back to Chicago on Dec. 17th and can't make it.

If you can keep your meatball recipe handy I would like to capture it on my phone. They are so delicious.
I have made princesstarta a few times since GBBO, so I'm very excited to taste Homodachi's version.

I tried out this svartbrod (black bread) recipe the other day and it's really delicious. Hearty, seeded, and a little sweet with a light rye flavor. I'm planning to bring a loaf to contribute to the open-faced sandwich substrate selection!
