A Semi-Annual Late December New England Gathering

Mon December 21 at 7:00 PM, Martha's Exchange
185 Main St, Nashua, NH, USA (Map & Directions)
Come meet up at Martha's Exchange in Nashua, NH on Monday, December 21 at 7:00 PM! The reservation is under my name, "Erin." Reservation is for 6 people, with space for more, so even if you're not confirmed, feel free to come!
I'll make a reservation in a few weeks!

I'll be in Manchester, NH from December 20-December 29. Let me know if you'd still be interested in a seacoast meetup and I'll try to figure out timing there. Let me know if you'll be in Manchester and would like to eat delicious chicken nuggets, or something.
----
As usual, I'd love to say hi to New England mefites.

We've had this gathering in Nashua at Martha's Exchange in the past, and that seems to work pretty well. If folks want to change things up, I'd be happy to go further south towards Boston, further west towards Keene, further north up towards Concord, or further east towards Portsmouth.

I'm free Dec. 21, 22, 23, and then 26, 27, and 28. I could be talked in to doing multiple things if people would rather not gather en masse.

I realize this is wicked early, but just wanted to put it on people's radar as I know it gets complicated to schedule things closer to December. And also, I'm feeling festive this afternoon.

Definitely interested, closer to the NH seacoast would be easier, but only if that works for other folks.

If I am available I would certainly come up to Nashua again. I had a lot of fun the last couple of times.

I'm definitely interested, though I will only be here the 21-23. Yay festivities!

Seacoast would be super nice for me too, but flexible.

I am interested and flexible!

We are definitely interested, and Nashua/Martha's Exchange were great the last time we made it. (Seacoast is unfortunately probably a tad out of our range.)

We're staying home for Christmas this year, so I may be able to make it.

I made a meetup in union square recently so perhaps may beat the confluence of syndromes (beeg smiliey) that stymies me. Assuming reindeer costume is NOT required!?!

So I'm thinking that a Nashua meetup - maybe Monday evening, December 21, might once again be the best option for the most people. I'd really like to see you seacoast folks, though, too. Would anyone be up for a December 27 in Portsmouth meetup?
posted by ChuraChura at 7:26 AM on November 18, 2015

I'd come from Maine to Portsmouth for the 27th!
posted by donnagirl at 11:41 AM on November 18, 2015

I think either one would be fine by me. I plan to spend Christmas with my family in Maine, which would put me right on the road to Portsmouth anyway.
posted by Rustic Etruscan at 9:18 AM on November 19, 2015

27th would be a maybe for me - it's a little early, I'll still have houseguests.
posted by Miko at 10:14 AM on November 19, 2015

Greg Nog and I can make the 27th! (or 26 or 28). Portsmouth works for us! Or Nashua! Or wherever!

Alright! For the time being, I'm going to call this one for Monday, December 21 at 7:00 PM at Martha's Exchange. I'll ping people about Portsmouth, potentially, depending on how my family's seasonal celebration scheduling is going as we get a little closer to the date. Anyone in the vicinity of Manchester, though, let me know and I'd be happy to get together!
posted by ChuraChura at 12:16 PM on November 30, 2015

Nice! The 21st is a "definite maybe" for us. Will have a better sense as the date approaches! It would be great to see you folks again (and meet others for the first time.)
posted by usonian at 2:31 PM on November 30, 2015 [1 favorite]

I'll probably be able to make the 21st at 7:00!
posted by Rustic Etruscan at 9:36 AM on December 1, 2015 [1 favorite]

Hm, so it's getting a little closer and it seems like maybe December 21 doesn't work so well for people? Would the 22 or 23 work better? What about the 26 or 27?
posted by ChuraChura at 6:24 PM on December 10, 2015

The 21st should work for me but any weeknight depends on how my day goes, as well as traffic.

The 26th would be even better.
posted by bondcliff at 7:03 PM on December 10, 2015

Any of those days would work for me. I don't have many events on my calendar this year.
posted by Rustic Etruscan at 6:29 AM on December 11, 2015 [1 favorite]

I'm also switching my maybe to a yes (for the 21st) so that Chura Chura can get started on any necessary restaurant reservations and I can start considering anyone who doesn't show as a potential enemy who hates the thought of eating dinner with me.

(If anyone needs a ride from Medcamberville let me know.)
posted by maryr at 9:43 PM on December 11, 2015

We aren't getting into the area until Christmas, but would be happy to call a second meetup for after as we would love to see as many New Englanders as we can! We like dinner-time/the evening of the 27th, but we could also do the 26 or 28!
posted by likeatoaster at 8:25 AM on December 12, 2015

I'll have to be a maybe for the 27th because my parents will still be here. They tend to turn in early, so I might be able to swing by later in the evening.
posted by backseatpilot at 9:18 AM on December 12, 2015

Would it be easier to just do the 27th in lieu of the 21?
posted by ChuraChura at 2:22 PM on December 12, 2015

I can do the 26th but not the 27th.
posted by bondcliff at 7:12 PM on December 12, 2015

I think the 27th would work better for me.
posted by Rustic Etruscan at 7:47 AM on December 13, 2015

Definitely can't do the 26th, but now it sounds like my parents are leaving mid-day on the 27th so would be a firmer yes for that evening.
posted by backseatpilot at 8:21 AM on December 13, 2015

I'll be in BTV after Christmas which is too far from Manchester to be reasonable, so I'll bump myself back to a maybe. Too bad.
posted by maryr at 8:39 AM on December 13, 2015

I would be sorry to miss the NogToasters but it sounds like the 27th is preferable.

Is there a gang that would also like to meet on the 21st? Perhaps closer to Boston?
posted by bondcliff at 2:32 PM on December 13, 2015

Well, the 21st still works for me, preferably Nashua as planned but Boston and its environs are possible! And I'd really like to see you and Maryr et al who couldn't make it up later. Greg, do you guys want to start a post-Christmas meetup thread?
posted by ChuraChura at 2:40 PM on December 13, 2015 [1 favorite]

Ok, I can come up to Nashua too if that's the best option.
posted by bondcliff at 3:13 PM on December 13, 2015

The 21st in Nashua is a better bet for us (but still up in the air, so don't make any decisions on our account!)
posted by usonian at 6:56 AM on December 14, 2015

I can do the 21st but will be out of town on the 27th. Happy to go back to Nashua or something in the greater Boston metro. I'm on vacation that week, so I'd even go out to Natick!
posted by DiscourseMarker at 8:08 AM on December 14, 2015

Oh no, you want to avoid Natick during the holidays unless you enjoy gridlock. We have a mall or two here.
posted by bondcliff at 8:20 AM on December 14, 2015

Alright! Let's keep the 21 at 7:30 as planned, and Greg Nog can make arrangements for a possible 26 or 27th meetup too. I'll make a reservation on Friday, but they've been very flexible in the past, so we can easily add or subtract a few people as necessary.
posted by ChuraChura at 11:16 AM on December 14, 2015

Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in...

(back in the yes column for the 21st)

Alright! Reservation has been made! I said 6 people, but could go either way!
posted by ChuraChura at 9:02 AM on December 20, 2015

I will definitely be there!

I will also definitely be there!

Argh! We are not going to make it tonight. :(
posted by usonian at 5:30 AM on December 21, 2015

I trust you will all have so much fun tonight, you will immediately want to go to another meetup, conveniently scheduled this coming Sunday. ;)

Aw, we'll miss you, usonian! Looking forward to seeing you guys Sunday, likeatoaster :-)

I don't think I'm going to be able to make it tonight, either, but I will see everyone on Sunday!
posted by backseatpilot at 11:28 AM on December 21, 2015

Yeah, sadly I'm not gonna be able to get up there tonight and I won't be able to go Sunday either. I'd blow of Sunday's Dysfunctional Family Christmas, but I'm hosting.

I'll see y'all next time around.

Maryr just finished work so she and I will be underway in about 5-10 min. See you soon!

Will probably arrive a bit after 7.
