The Candle Bar, the oldest gay bar in NYC and the last gay bar on the UWS is closing just as Pride Weekend is starting. They're having everything must go drink specials. Why not join me on Friday June 19th at 7:30 in saying goodbye to another bit of local color. I will sit on the jukebox all night and keep it from getting stupid.

The new owners stopped their wine shipments so literally all they have is liquor in various forms and bottled beer til it lasts

Also the bar is uh , clearly showing signs that no one has put any money into it for years. It's a dark small pit, but it's my local dark put for over a decade.

It was mostly old gay men listening to Liza in the dark so I loved it.
