Turn, Turn, Turn - a new play

Far in the future, another planet is dying. The next great migration is happening; thousands of people racing from one world to the next. On an old freighter, destined to become their future home, four individuals are thrown together. Struggling with nostalgia for Earth Seven, the crew must decide how much they will risk to get to the next world first. For two weeks at Theatre Works from Sept 13 to Sept 23. [more inside]

Mike's March-End Art Part 1 - The Furies

Along with the meetups we've had that are fun and/or political, let's end March with a couple of free art events (that are also fun and/or political, I guess.) Join me for the premiere of The Furies, by King is a Fink Productions. The Furies is a series of five dance films that explore how social prohibitions against female anger limit self-actualization for women. [more inside]

The Last Gay Bar On The UWS Is Going

The Candle Bar, the oldest gay bar in NYC and the last gay bar on the UWS is closing just as Pride Weekend is starting. They're having everything must go drink specials. Why not join me on Friday June 19th at 7:30 in saying goodbye to another bit of local color. I will sit on the jukebox all night and keep it from getting stupid.

Reading through some old AskMe posts, I saw that a lot of people had responded to various questions about being gay/lesbian/bi/etc in NYC with offers to meet up and hang out. And I thought, well, I could stalker-ily message those people, or I could just post an event and see if anyone is into it. [more inside]

Gays of Chicago (and friends)...

So, my mom's dealing with her second round of cancer, and I'm flying back from L.A. to Chicago for a week to deal with all that. I'm going to need a good night of hedonism to take the edge off. It looks like Chances is the place to be, so I'm planning to show up sometime between 10 and 10:30 on Saturday the 4th to werk it out. (Note: I'll have my brother and my family to help process the heavy stuff, so this night is all about fun and camaraderie and celebrating life. Don't be afraid!)
