Mo dumplings, fewer problems

Sat October 4 at 2:00 PM, Dumpling Galaxy
42-35 Main Street, Flushing, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
I want to have a meetup at Dumpling Galaxy since it sounds delicious. With our powers combined, we can try some of their 100 dumplings (here are 33 examples).
I am assuming a weekend afternoon would be best. I could do most days but not 9/20 since that is the board game meetup. What works for y'all?

Count me in for whenever. (But, oh my god that is a daunting list of dumplings to choose from! And, should we steer the October out-of-towner mefite meetup to Dumpling Galaxy instead of Pacificana?)

Flushing is a serious trek. I imagine it would cut down on the number of people who attend significantly. I think it would be better to have the out-of-towner meetup in a more central location.

True enough - looks like it will be faster for me to get to Flushing from Jersey City by driving than to take public transportation.

I'm interested, but ironically will be in China for the middle half of Oct. So how about the weekend of the 4th? Then it's training!

The title of this should have been "I got 99 dumplings and a squid ain't one."
And the BF and I are ok with the 4th, as long as it's midafternoon.

I haven't got 99 dumplings yet, computech! (Woe is me. But that shall change.) What exactly are your time parameters? I was definitely thinking this would be a lunchy thing and am happy to do whatever works best for y'all.

I should note, it looks like this dim sum meetup is happening the following week. Is that too many dumplings in a two week span? It isn't for me but if y'all want me to move this later let me know.

I'm fine with 10/4 - maybe we should put it on the calendar and see what the head count looks like as the date approaches. Do we know if they make small groups share tables at Dumpling Galaxy the way the dim sum places do? And if we know how many dumplings come in one order, we'd want to be multiples of that.

Sure, I'll call it for then and let the chips fall where they may. I think most of the dumplings are 6 to an order. Everyone may not eat all types though (no beef/lamb for me, f'rinstance). No idea re: table shares; I think it is more like a regular table service place than a dim sum palace though.
And if Yom Kippur is a conflict for anyone, let me know. Bad Jew that I am, I will probably eat some pork dumplings.

Ferret, 2:00 should be ok with us. Assuming my Saturday-morning engagement gets back at the usual time, we can zip out to Flushing for dumplings-a-plenty!

I'm still a little sick, so I'm going to wait and see how I feel tomorrow to decide if I'm up for this.

I thought this place was great, well worth the trip out to Flushing, and I would return again sometime for a crack at the other 80 dumplings. Thanks for organizing!
