Meetup at the LA Arboretum and dumplings!

I was kicking around an idea in chat about a meetup at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden along with noms at Din Tai Fung. Who would be interested?
Din Tai Fung (http://www.dintaifungusa.com/) is consistently rated one of the best xiao long bao restaurants in the world(!) and I actually prefer this location to the original one in Taipei.
After filling our stomach with delicious dumplings, those of us interested can check out the Arboretum (http://www.arboretum.org/index.php/visit/), for a fill of nature and peacock sightings.
UPDATE (6/17/13): Seems most would be available in mid July. So I'm setting the date for July 14th.

I'm always down for DTF, but won't that be be quite a wait on a Sunday afternoon?

I thought about the long, long wait for DTF. However I don't know a better option for timing.

What about flip-flopping the order - food first, nature second? Din Tai Fung opens at 10. Would that help the wait?

It helps a little. Whenever I eat there (usually Sundays...) I try to make it as close to ten as possible. There's usually still a wait. But, you know, if the point is to hang out together we can still do that while waiting. There's an arcade next door with a bunch of silly claw games in it that's good for wasting 20 minutes or so.
Might be nice to stuff ourselves full of dumplings then stroll around the arboretum after.

Food then nature sounds like a great idea. Ah yes, and I forgot that there are like two locations practically next to each other. Perhaps we should meet up at the first Arcadia location (1108 S. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia, CA 91007) at 10AM?

Ciclavia is this weekend in mid-wilshire. I was thinking of posting a meetup in the beer garden of the Korean BBQ festival along the route. Any chance we can do this in a few weeks?

Just saw this! I'm from Arcadia and will be back home for the weekend. I'll try to come, it'd be great to do a MeFi meetup so close to home.
