Hello, Portland. I find myself unexpectedly in your vicinity for a few days. So, uh, you want to hang out or whatever?
Green Dragon Pub, 6 pm. Let's have a pint together, I'd love to meet you.

What do you have in mind?
In what part of town are you staying?

Oh, I figure just meet up for a drink and maybe a casual bite to eat or something. I'm staying in Portsmouth in north Portland, but I can get around fairly easily.

I'd be up for a bite and a pint this evening.

A couple ideas:
Occidental Brewing
Green Dragon
Hopworks

I know Green Dragon has a patio. Not sure about the other 2.

Later evening is probably best for me and fiercekitten.
Like after 7:00 or 8:00, I think.

I think Hopworks has a few outdoor tables, not as many as Green Dragon. It doesn't seem like Occidental has food, but it is closer to Portsmouth than the other two.

I think Occidental allows you to bring in food, but doesn't offer any.
That being the case, Green Dragon or Hopworks might be better.

Google Maps claims there's quite a few pubs along Lombard St. near N. Portsmouth Ave., but I'm not familiar with the area so I don't know which would be the best choice. A decent pub with food and an outdoor area would be ideal, if this breeze dies down a bit.

On preview: so yeah, other than being in the SW area, Green Dragon would work. And it's a known quantity.

And it's a known quantity.

Although, the quantity of some beers on the list are unknown until you try to order ;)
But generally speaking, they have a great selection, decent food, and a waitstaff that has a tendency to forget to charge you for a beer or 2.

I'm down for the Green Dragon. Are we thinking 7 or 8 pm? And is it the kind of place where we might want to lock down a table early?

Possibly. Not really sure what to expect as far as supply/demand (yes, I'm an Econ major) for outdoor seating.

I'll hazard a guess that outdoor seating will be quite popular on a warm sunny Saturday night.

Ok, let's say 6 pm, and I'm sure once we get situated, we'll be there a while.

I snagged one of the few available tables outside. Bald guy, Metafilter shirt.

Running late, be there by 6:30.

All announced people are present. Unannounced people! Come play!

That was fun. And thanks to the "Florida train wreck" it was interesting, too.

That was an excellent time. Thank you, nickthetourist, fiercekitten, and Greg_Ace. I will do my level best to provide more than less than 24 hours notice next time,
