Drinks in NYC to entertain a visiting Canadian Contingent?

Bonjour! I'll be in NYC (staying in Brooklyn) with my sister on the night of January 3rd. My sister has expressed a certain dubiosity regarding the wisdom of meeting up with random Internet strangers for drinks. Can we prove her wrong?
It's been a few years since I've been in NYC, so I don't feel super-equipped to propose a location. I'm curious about Barcade, but I don't know if it no longer exists/is always mega-crowded/is no fun. Any NYC MeFites willing to grab the reins and, on short notice, propose a meet up location for a beer-loving 30-something Canuck and his hard-partying 20-something sister?

Sure! We'd love to have you. Barcade is still open and a fine place to meet up. 10pm might be a tad late, though, any wiggle room on that?

Okay!

Brooklyn is bigger than I thought and it may take us slightly longer than I realized to get there from my uncle's house in Fort Hamilton. Still, we will be there by 9:30 at the latest. I will be the guy with "256" written on my forehead.
