His thoughts were red thoughts and misfish are coming to Tokyo, and would love to meetup with the Pacific Rim contingent for drinks, eats, and talks.
So everyone meet at Ueno Park (at the big, main entrance to the park just past the koban (police box), then we can go find a bar or an izakaya nearby.
How "soon after" is soon after, though? 13th? 14th? What's the cutoff, as Larry David says?

I'd say 15 August is a conservative cutoff. We haven't really planned our movements yet, but I think we'll be in Tokyo for at least 3 nights.

I could do evening drinks, though I work (light) salaryman hours during the week, so that'd mean limited distance after Sunday.

I usually get off work before 7PM and my office is in the Akasaka area, so anything in approximate Yamanote range should be fine.
My hours aren't really bad, but I know too many people who are usually at work until ten or eleven.

OK, I'll set it up for the 12th, late afternoon. If one of you Tokyo dwellers could suggest a place, I would appreciate it. I think we'll be staying in Asakusa, but you know, trains are a thing, so we're happy to go anywhere within a reasonable radius.

Just off the top of my head, since it's the afternoon and all, maybe we could meet at Ueno Park. We could wait for everyone to gather there (while quaffing canned beer and such) then head off to an izakaya or wherever to grab a bite?

The easiest point to find for everyone might be the big, main entrance to the park just past the koban (police box), near Yodobashi Camera electronics store.

Oh man. Another Tokyo meetup I can't attend. Well, unless they're planned well in advance, I can't attend most Tokyo meetups since I live on Sado Island. Have fun, though. Wish I could have made it. :)
