Join us for an ice cream social at the Village Green Park in Northbrook! Bring a picnic, or buy a hotdog, and have some ice cream. Park features shady grassy areas, picnic tables, and a great playground if you bring the kids! (The small McGees will be there.) I've been really out of the MetaFilter loop and would like to fall back in again. There must be some MeFites still here in Philly and I would love to hang out with them. My wife and I have a rambunctious almost 3 year old and it would be nice to bring him along too, so ideally a place that is kid-friendly would be great. [more inside]

I'd like to have a picnic at Roxhill Park and hang out while kids play on the (exciting, new) playground. (There's also a skatepark, a large field, and a marsh walk.) Who wants to come hang out on a non-pouring-rain Saturday afternoon? (There's only a 10% chance of rain next Saturday, at least right now, so maybe then?) Update: let's meet at noon on Saturday, 3 May. I'll still be there if there's light rain.
