...actually, please refrain from the jazz hands BUT...
POSTunderground is an erstwhile Jazz residency held in the basement of the Brookline VFW Post 11 on 386 Washington Street. This month, they're presenting four sets of local jazz each Friday Night—7:30PM, 8:30PM, 9:30PM, 10:30PM. There's no cover—and there is a simple bar with VFW prices (read: cheap drinks). I'm gonna go on Friday March 24, sometime around 8PM. Anyone with me?

As discussed over in this thread, the next Highland Park Jazz Series concert with meet-up interest is on August 24th and will feature The Horn Guys. The concerts in this series are free, and take place every Sunday in August from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

UPDATE: Called, for both August 3rd and August 24th. Yesterday was St. Swithin's Day, and since it didn't rain I am cautiously optimistic: is there any interest in catching one of the Highland Park "Reservoir of Jazz" performances? They're free, and take place every Sunday in August from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. [more inside]

Tomeka Reid is the featured musician on July 22. Tuesday is free admission day at the MCA (if you have an ID that says you're an Illinois resident) and the concert is free with admission to the museum. They kick everyone out at 8:30. [more inside]

Eastern Washington/Palouse meetup! The Dozier-Jarvis Trio is playing live jazz (Oscar Peterson style) at the charming Rico's Pub on Sat April 20th. The Meetup is starting around 7:30. There is pub food available. The band starts around 10:00. It's cool. It's comfy. It's a jazzy Inland Northwest Meetup in a nice old pub!
