Anyone up for pub quiz trivia tonight? Sorry for the late notice! Lurkers welcome; questions from 8 til about 10, $2 per person buy-in, the questions are usually history, natural history, and pop culture of the last six decades or so. Winning team gets the buy-in cash, which we have been donating to Metafilter.
Help fund Metafilter while winning (and enjoying) trivia at the George & Dragon. All are welcome. [more inside]
Yes, sometimes less important things interfere with the one true transcendent experience that is trivia at the George & Dragon. Let's gather once again this coming Tuesday to enjoy triviality. Come if you can!
Yes. Join us. Onion rings. If you’ve thought of coming for the first time, have come before but not for a while, or are a regular that missed the 20th birthday triumph, here is your chance. This is a happy occasion to be shared.
Stretching the hometown hero Jimi theme: Let's do it again! We failed to win this week but were still able to review cgc373’s recent book acquisitions. They were, as usual, edifying and inspirational. But seriously: we did not win because you were not there. Do you want that on your permanent record for another week? I thought not. See you next Tuesday!
I am back in Seattle and eager to plunge back into the Metafilter Trivia Experience, with the hope that there are like-minded souls with Tuesday evening free.
Pub quiz night at the George and Dragon in Fremont; usually an interesting quiz, usually interesting conversation between questions, occasionally we win. $2 buy-in and the winning team gets actual cash. Runs til about ten, usually.
Trivia! Come respond with us. All are welcome (and, honestly, after the last couple weeks, we need help).
Join us for pub trivia at the George and Dragon, which has been running pub trivia a long time, as Seattle pubs go.
*sssschchchsssss* Hello? *ghghssssghss* Can you hear me? *ssssssss* My illness has carried me to the Other Side and I must warn you of danger. The being who will present itself as Skys#*craper at the George & Dragon on Tuesday is not me. Rescue me but, more impor#(4’tantly, save the known universe by attending trigggghhvia night and wresting my very existence from the grasp of this ghoulish conspiracy, by corrapprmectly answering the trivia challenges - and ignoring the tempting, but erroneous, answers offered by the odious PseudoSkyscraper. Save me. Save humanity. [more inside]
Battered but victorious, we move on into the future. Join us! In your thousands! Imagine a world in which all trivia teams, everywhere in the universe, are composed solely of MeFites. That, my friends, is a future we can make happen, if only you - yes you! - believe. If only you act. If only you will share in our onion rings. Join us. [more inside]
Well, one of our Nemesis teams showed up in full force last week and defeated us 34-31. While it was refreshing to be challenged, it was not refreshing to lose. You could be the difference. As mentioned previously, if you haven’t attended before or haven’t in a while, we would love to have you with us. Some of us who attend frequently are not instrumental in achieving victory, so please don’t feel intimidated. As a bonus, more inside is a response to ChrisR’s challenge for team names playing off our usual “Manifest Destiny’s Child”. I have taken some liberties with his criteria. [more inside]
Trivia: Torn asunder from within by our burgeoning ranks, let us find a way forward that makes us one again. Unless there are seven or more of us.
Let’s do some trivia!
OK that was not uplifting. Let’s get together and convivially get answers right!
Turns out six people know more than two! Let’s see if we can do as well this week.
Trivia Early Warning System - In compensation for last week’s secretive alert. MeFites needed! Last week proved (as if more proof was needed) that ChrisR and I are not sufficient for victory.
I am no longer contagious and would like to celebrate with some trivia
After a successful start to 2019, let’s continue the tradition.
Now that the (fill in the blank) season has passed, let's gather for an inaugural night of 2019 trivia!
