This is all part of The Big Parade (organized by Dan Koeppel aka soulbarn): a 2 day trek that starts downtown at Angel's Flight and ends at the Hollywood sign. With many stops along the way. You don't really get to know a city until you've meandered through a bunch of seemingly secret passages on foot.
