The time for happy birthday dim sum is here - this year at Bamboo Garden, in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
I put myself down as a 'maybe' because I'm free the 19th, but not the 20th. Both places look really good though.

I feel like we got seated faster at Bamboo Garden than at Pacificana the last time (and maybe was less of a schlep from the subway?), so, I'm leaning towards that one.

Ah, the 19th doesn't work for me. My next days off are the 21st-22nd (Monday-Tuesday), and then Sunday the 27th. So if the weather's bad, I guess you can expect me.

Well, looks like the current forecast is for rain on Friday 1/18 turning into snow Saturday & Sunday, so unless the storm fizzles out in the midwest, we'll probably need to bump the dim sum meetup out to 1/26 or 1/27.

We can certainly move it but the forecast I'm seeing doesn't show any snow til after 4 on the 19th.

The forecast I use is saying heavy, heavy rain all day Sunday.

It does seem like Saturday might be ok, but I’m nervous after the last snowstormaggedon under-forecast transit clusterfuck. Let’s see what the predictions are tomorrow.

Saturday should be fine, Brooklyn seems to be in line for a mix of rain and snow more than anything else.

Ok, the forecast for Saturday the 19th does seem safe, so I won't reschedule. (But if anyone who could only make it for the 27th wants to make a new IRL post for a 1/27 'you can never have too much dim sum in January' meetup, please go ahead, I'd be a definite Yes.)

Yeah, the more dim sum the merrier! It is possible the 27th would be better for my +1 as well.

I might be in NYC on the 19th... (just saw this MeFi meetup, coincidentally). Is this still happening on the 19th? I kinda don't know any of you NY MeFites though... :pp

Yes, we’re still on for this Saturday, aielen, you should absolutely come. Just keep an eye on the thread and update if you’re on the way so we know to wait for you/save you a seat before you end up in a dead zone. The bill for dim sum usually works out to under $20 per person, so, bring some small bills.
