DIY Ice cream social thing?

Sun October 2 at 3:00 PM, My House
72 Lansing St, San Francisco, CA, USA (Map & Directions)
Does anyone want to come to my house and eat homemade ice cream and maybe bring some homemade ice cream too?
Store-bought ice cream is permitted I guess, but if everyone brings ice cream, then we'll have way too much ice cream, so some people have to not bring any ice cream, ok?
I'll try to have a couple coolers prepared to theoretically keep ice cream at a good serving temperature (~6º F).
(Warning for allergic people and ailurophobes: cats live here too)

I haven't seen you people in forever. I'd love to come.

This is an excellent plan. It's possible that I have a scheduling conflict, but I already went today to buy vanilla beans for this, so I'll make it work somehow.

Maybe we could bring some things that would go well with ice cream, like cherries, whiskey, kahlua, chocolate syrup?

Hey, what if I bring something someone could put ice cream on? Like a fruit crumble, say. I'd be delighted to bring something like that along should such a substance be welcome.

Also won't know if I can come until shortly prior, but hopefully! I'll get the ice cream maker into the freezer just in case.

I love making ice cream! Haven't done it for a couple years. (I also love eating ice cream, which I have done more recently.)

Might disrupt, by sending something savory.
It won't compete with the empanadas at your cake vs pie shindig, but not much could.
My non-MeFi biped might have some insulated containers and various further ice cream accoutrements to lend, should you need them.

I guess if folks bring ice cream scoops, that'd be particularly handy, since I only have one, and I can't just go buy a bunch like I did with pie servers, because now I have a bunch of pie servers clogging up my ice cream scoop drawer.

It turns out I misunderstood the chemistry so it's going to be a lot less precise than that, though I'm sure everything will be fine. Also I learned a lot about eutectic mixtures. Too bad -23°C isn't the best temperature for service ice cream - that one's easy.

Small test batches of:
- pandan (extract courtesy of kalessin at cookie exchange)
- chocolate-Rancho Gordo midnight black bean-gluten free brownie
- mango-habanero-sour cream
will be sent. Ice crystals predicted.

Noooooo! Work up feeling like crap. There will be no joy for me in Mudville, and certainly no ice cream. Apologies for feeling forced to skip this lovely event. Can someone else bring an ice cream scoop, since I'll be MIA?

captivepredator's human looks to be scooping up the slack WRT ice cream scoops, which she will be bringing in spades (plus, in fact, one ice cream spade).

Flavors:
I made: Seriously-gingery ginger lemon honey, a chocolate that was also no slouch, and a non-sweet blue cheese & pear that was kinda weird and tasted more like blue cheese (Saint Agur, specifically) than like ice cream.
My roommate made vanilla or something
captivepredator made the ones listed above, for her human to bring.
zachlipton made raspberry white chocolate, and meyer lemon sorbet

Damn, I would've eaten that. I would've eaten everything.
We've been making our own kefir for the last few months and contemplated making a riff on this sour cream-brown sugar ice cream we made a long while back, using kefir in place of (some?) of the dairy base. Next time.
