Plant swap or grab, AKA take my aloe babies

You can just take and not give if you don't have stuff to trade!
Anybody interested in meeting up and trading some plant cuttings or succulent leaves for propagating? There must be other windowsill gardeners here with lots of plant babies...
We could trade or you could just take some of my insanely fertile aloe. I would love some new plants to try for Spring.
YES! I have two rediculous spider plants. And aloe, and a pothos that's insane.

Hmm, I don't have any plants to give, but I've been wanting to fill up my office windowsill with some greenery. Are you so desperate to give your plants away that you would be okay with getting something non-plant in return?

Yes! takers are fine with me- and I'd love a spider and different pothos from the one I have.
How is Sunday afternoon March 30?
That way we can take some cuttings now and hopefully start rooting them in water or whatev to be ready for the swap.
Also it will let some plants perk up a little for Spring maybe.
I think my plant fever is coming a bit too early for the actual weather.

What time Sunday? I might be able to make it, we are doing the Highline walk at 1pm. Not sure about bringing spider plant cuttings on that though...
If there were to be one in the fall, I may have iris and day lily extras, as well.

One in March now because I'm excited, and then one in April/May for the outdoor spring plants.
kellyblah- what time would you want it? we could do before your walk like at 12 or after at 3.
As for the place, the lounge in the Jade hotel is really nice (13th st btw 5th and 6th ave) and is close to the ACE at w 4th st and the F and M at 14th st and 6th, and the 123 at 14th and 7th.

Oddly enough I AM in need of aloe plants. (special request from my mom, and mine aren't robust enough to hand off yet)
I could do thursday evening? (I'm away this weekend)
I could hand off spider babies as well as pothos clippings, but not sure if you want those.

Depends on the plant, but my general rule of thumb for making clippings is to cut 1/4 inch below a node, at least 4 nodes down. Then you can still have at 3 leaves and the fourth set can become roots. Sharp scissors are good, too.
Or if the problem is what to do with the cuttings, if it is a succulent I let it heal over for about 2 days before planting it in dry soil, then water it in and leave it for a 3 days then water again.
For other plants I either plant right away in damp soil and water in, or try to grow roots in water first and once they are 2 inches, then put in soil.

I can make the original day/time. If you want to change it, I couldn't make Monday after work, and Sunday would be a maybe depending on the time. That said, I'm not really contributing much, just coming to swipe some aloe babies.
