I vote for the Marble Arch, btw posted by Jofus at 12:19 AM on January 20
If it can wait until March 3rd (or 10th) then I'm in. posted by thoughtless at 7:41 AM on January 20

Another vote for early March, here.
And a request for a map because I have no idea how to get around Manchester. posted by daysocks at 1:32 PM on January 20 [1 favorite]
Just a marker to help me keep an eye on this. posted by knapah at 6:34 AM on January 21
Aye. I'm in. Marble's good, or elsewhere will be less good, but still eminently acceptable, I'm sure. posted by idiomatika at 5:05 PM on January 21
Depending on the weekend I can probably make it. Will be good to head to another meetup. posted by koolkat at 4:07 AM on January 22
3rd of march has just been claimed for me by a friend's 30th birthday. 10th Mar or 25th Feb are my options now. posted by fearnothing at 10:40 AM on January 22
Another vote for the 10th March, fwiw. posted by Jofus at 11:54 AM on January 22
I might be travelling from Durham to Chester the weekend of the 10th. I suppose that might put me in Manchester at some point. posted by nat at 8:57 PM on January 22
10th March is good for me! As much as I love the Marble Arch, could we go somewhere else? I'm at the Marble all most every night.... posted by slyrabbit at 11:54 AM on January 24
OK, March 10th looks like the favourite option here. Let's nail that one to the wall and start picking locations.
Seems there's a significant minority saying Marble has been done to death. Rustle up some other suggestions and let's see how they fly :) posted by fearnothing at 2:26 PM on January 26
Port St. is also good, and just down the road. I suspect Slyrabbit's critique of the Marble is in reference to the Marble at 57 Thomas St, which is dangerously close to our Manchester office. The Arch, a little out of town, is a past favourite, but we could spice it up with some action at the Glamorous Chinese restaurant, above the car park at Wing Yip just over the way. posted by davemee at 6:02 AM on January 28
Would this be the Port St. that Google Street View shows to be the home of the "ROWN AND ANCHOR"? posted by fearnothing at 10:26 AM on January 29
Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. posted by xchmp at 1:25 PM on January 29
March 10th is good for me.
Just tell me where and an actual time and I can come over from Leeds. posted by koolkat at 9:14 AM on February 5
Sorry just got scheduled for an impromptu Stag day that weekend. My GF was heading to the Hen do, and I just got notice that I was invited to the Stag do.
Bummer but also hoody hoo stag doo! posted by koolkat at 1:09 AM on February 6
OK, in spite of minority objections, the Marble Arch seems to win by overall majority. Let's Do This Thing. posted by fearnothing at 2:33 AM on February 11
Nuts - I'd entirely forgotten about this thread and am now on holiday at the other end of the country until the 19th :( DENIED AGAIN! posted by Jofus at 2:08 PM on March 8
Dang, I'm also sorry to miss out on the fun, but be sure to have lots of it. posted by iamkimiam at 2:47 PM on March 8
Everything still OK for tomorrow. Is it just the 3 of us? posted by idiomatika at 11:23 AM on March 9
I'm still planning to turn up ... and hey, at least it should be relatively easy to get a table for three. posted by thoughtless at 12:43 PM on March 9
I'm still on for it. Another MeFite sends her regrets, so it looks like it may well just be we three! posted by fearnothing at 12:03 AM on March 10
I might well drop by. I will also be antisocial for a while while I have a meeting with someone else on a professional basis (then become proper lashed up). posted by davemee at 7:34 AM on March 10
I'm here now; blue hoodie, nervous drinking. posted by thoughtless at 8:23 AM on March 10
We meeph-eye-tees had a fine time drinking lots of booze in a delightful cement beer garden. After this, I wound up in a lock-in on my own and subsequently suffered a number of emetic episodes.
Jofus & Slyrabbit sent their best, also. posted by davemee at 12:40 AM on March 13
Yeah. Nice chat. Nice surroundings. Nice food.
Nice, basically.
Was just missing all you slackers who were off elsewhere! posted by idiomatika at 5:37 PM on March 13
