Jersey City Indian Food Meetup

Sat January 14 at 1:00 PM, Rasoi Restaurant
Today's NJ post reminded me that it has been nearly a year since the last JC meetup. Any MeFites interested in hitting the Rasoi on either January 14th or 15th? NYC folks who want to take a short PATH ride welcome!

I'm in - the 14th being a Wednesday will conflict with the Brooklyn Weekly Meetups, so I'd vote for Thursday the 15th if we're going with a weeknight dinner.

*January* 14th is a Saturday, and the 15th is Sunday. The proposed meetup is for next month. :)

Oh wait. The 14th/15th of January 2012 is Saturday/Sunday. (oh yeah! must be looking at a Mayan calendar or something) Weekdays are doable, weekends less so.

Either day is good for me. Afternoon vs evening? I think the buffets close down at night most places and we'd be ordering from the menu instead. That said, I usually order from the menu rather than enjoying the buffets anyway so I've no particular preference.

We were just talking this last week. I'd be interested in this.

Just a note: the weekend of the 14th is a holiday weekend: Martin Luther King Day is on the Monday.

Ok, so let's shoot for lunch on Saturday, January 14th, 1:00 PM. The weekend lunch buffet runs 11.30 AM - 4.30 PM.

I'll have you all know I've been getting Tali or buffet every day someplace different on Newark Ave. this week *except* for at Rasoi, just so it will be special. cares.

For those of you coming in via the PATH from New York, you get off the train at Journal Square (the train icon in the blue square on the map above).

Go up all the escalators, and then once you are outside, go down the stair to your left. That will be JFK Blvd. Turn right, and walk four short blocks north on JFK until you reach Newark Ave. You want to cross to the other side of Newark, and then turn left and cross JFK. The Rasoi is about 1 block west down Newark, it will be on the right hand side of the street.

Despite chilly weather conditions and lack of a fully functional L train, I will be attending!

I might be late though since I've never done the PATH thing and I don't know how that shiz works.

Yay kkokkodalk! If you're taking the PATH from the WTC station, you'll get on the Newark train to Journal Square. If you're taking the PATH from the 33rd thru Christopher Street Line along 6th Ave there's just the one train on the weekend, with Journal Square via Hoboken, and Journal Square is the last stop.

Yea I'm totally going to be late. The shuttle bus situation was crap in Brooklyn but it was one of those halfway there, can't turn back situations. Anyway, save me a seat.
