June 23rd's Geeks Who Drink pub trivia at the Maple Leaf Pub is a theme quiz in honor of Pride Week: "Quiz as Folk".
There's a $5 per person entry fee (they do this for the themed quizzes) and a cash purse (tastefully coordinated). They're urging players to arrive early. Don't forget it's also steak night (my mouth is watering already). The stuffed jalapeños are to die for. We'll have a gay old time!

Thanks to (absent wtf?) Frannyo who got us two free drink coupons for the inspiration for our team name "Ambient Jalapeno Poppers". Even though this night's totally queer themed quiz made me feel straighter and straighter and older and older as the night wore on, we took our third podium in a row, finishing 3rd with 47 points thanks to, well ... a lot of luck basically. I won one free drink coupon for answering a bonus question (don't ask me to remember what it was ... I started drinking with the owner of the bar after the game) plus two more bonus drink coupons for MOST AWESOME TEAM NAME.

So, Frannyo, IF you ever show up, two free drinks are yours.

Great time had by all. Next scheduled get-together is July 7th. Let's take gold this time!
