New Belgium Brewery Tour!

Sat June 18 at 4:30 PM, New Belgium Brewery
500 Linden St, Fort Collins, CO, USA (Map & Directions)
Anyone up for a tour of the New Belgium Brewery in Ft. Collins? I've reserved a tour for 16 for June 18 at 4:30pm. The tour lasts 90 minutes and starts promptly on time. Afterwards we can head out to Old Town Fort Collins for food and more drink, Coopersmith's is a good choice.
4:30pm is the latest tour start time, and June 18 was the largest-latest-starting tour time I could find in the near future. There's currently a 20 person tour slated for 3:30pm on Jun 11 if someone wants to grab it and the 18th doesn't work for many people.

I'd love to go on the 18th, providing I can find a ride up there, but that's the weekend of my 20th high school reunion. :(

Woohoo!! I need to check with the missus. But count me in as a definitely maybe.

sigh... dammit. this is the night before my wedding. You guys are starting to make me feel guilty.

I swear one of these days I'll just set up my own goddamn meetup when I stop being so freaking busy.

Whoah! Did I just sniff out some big news?!!

You're gonna organize a meetup?!!!

I keed. What the heck LFR?!! Massive congrats to you and Mr LFR!! If you like, maybe we could roll the brewery tour and your wedding up as one awesome event.

A meetup in Fort Collins just might be enough to force cschneid and I to come along to a meetup if you guys are willing to have us. But we might be traveling that weekend, so we're only a "maybe" for now.

oh hai Nails! Why yes indeed, I somehow thought I'd mentioned it... mister lfr has determined to make an honest woman of me. I have teh sparkley bit and everything! I wanted to come to Denver and might have even asked to join lukemeister's last-minute caravan except I got roped into doing a damned bike race which required me to get up at Oh God on Saturday morning.

Hmm. I shall have to try to plan a LoDo or Boulder meetup sometime in the relatively near future, I see. We shall be inundated with out of town relatives on the weekend of the wedding, but perhaps sometime shortly before they descend? I'm the worst wedding planner EVAR (so far my M.O. has consisted of ignoring things until someone else gets frustrated and does it for me) but maybe you lot could stand in for, I dunno, a bachelorette party?

Oh snap... June 18th is my birthday ! If anyone from out-of-town has specific questions, feel free to MeFi Mail me ... I live right in Old Town (within easy walking distance to New Belgium) and I also work for City of FC. Happy to provide any info/assistance.

The dates of my HS reunion were changed -- I may be able to make this after all.

Was looking forward to this, but my besties just called a can't-miss reunion weekend that conflicts. Next time!

Ok, one week till the brewery tour!

Who all is going up from Denver? I feel like we should try to coordinate rides in some fashion.

Hey... Scroots! I'm going from Denver.

I have wheels. I am undecided as whether to attend alone, or bring the missus and 12 month old. I may give them a call and ask whether it is indeed suitable for wives. And bairns.

Either way, I should have a spare seat or three.

Mrs. Fresh has been on the NB tour more times than me, I can vouch for wife safety. Can't say much about bairns.

I will not be able to make this -- I have to get a dissertation chapter written by the 23rd, and it's also Pride weekend, and those will take up all of my time, unfortunately.

Sounds good Nails. I could drive as well if need be, but catching a ride is preferred.

I've been on the tour once, my only recommendation is: if you want to go down their slide, wear pants. Not shorts, not skirts, pants. This is important.

Scrutiny! Nails! I'm interested in sharing vehicle space! Husband is camping, so it's just me.

Turns out cschneid and I will be out of town on the 18th, so we won't make it. Have fun everyone!

OK - I need to check with Mrs Nails to see if she wants to come in which case we can maybe take two... might be a squeeze though. 4+ baby.

Otherwise... if I'm driving... no problem at all. Will let you know. (I'm in Canada right now.. will speak to her later on tonight.)

dr. fresh. Do we have spaces we need to fill? I could maybiz invite non-Mefite friends.
posted by NailsTheCat at 9:59 AM on June 16, 2011

Sounds good Nails. If your wife would like to come and we still wanted to carpool I could probably fit 4+ baby fairly comfortably.
posted by scrutiny at 11:45 AM on June 16, 2011

The reservation is for 16, and there's no penalty for not quite filling our reservation. If we know ahead of time I can release some of the spots, otherwise anyone who's on the wait list can get on the tour. Mrs. Fresh and I might have another +1. My current confirmed count is 8, maybe 10 if our +1 and Mrs. Nails come along. Still room for more...

oh hai there denver peoples! We're totally looking forward to this!

Scrutiny, Freshwater:

OK - my wife has some work to do tomorrow however we think she should get it down in time and be good to come. So we can drive. We'll probably take the Prius so that means that it's a bit of a squeeze... but at least that way you can drink more, Scrutiny.

Otherwise we can go separately of course. What plan is everyone planning on leaving? Straight after the tour or d'ya wanna grab food or something afterwards.
posted by NailsTheCat at 7:29 PM on June 17, 2011

I have no particular time that I need to leave or arrive (except I'd like to make the tour of course!) How can I make it easier for you to pick me up? Should we set up a meeting point? I live in golden but can make it to most places in denver easily (bus is great).

I'd be down for grabbing some food either post- or pre-tour.
posted by scrutiny at 9:18 PM on June 17, 2011

Meeting point would be great. sending you and Freshwater my contact details.

Oh. And Dr Fresh's suggestion of Coppersmith's for dinner sounds great.
posted by NailsTheCat at 9:41 AM on June 18, 2011

Or Coopersmith's. As you prefer...
posted by NailsTheCat at 9:42 AM on June 18, 2011

Oh! Oh! Not to be all plan spoiler or anything, but we were thinking we'd love to have anyone who wants to come over afterwards - we can grill some tacos, drink more beer, hang around the chiminea. We live really near the brewery, ~5 minute car ride (we'll prolly cycle).

Interested?
posted by peachfuzz at 11:26 AM on June 18, 2011

That'd work out too! Although we can't really hang out late. Probably want to leave by 7.30ish so the wee one can sleep in the car.
posted by NailsTheCat at 12:10 PM on June 18, 2011

Hooray! Anyone who plans to come over to our place, let us know if you have any food issues.

My prospective +1 is now a solid +2, buy it still sounds like a few slots left. It sounds like everyone will know everyone already, but just in case: I'm wearing a black Great Lakes Brewing t-shirt with a dragon on it. The secret key phrase is same as always: "are you friends with Matt Haughey?"
