Jaws Screening at the UPCA

Sun August 6 at 4:00 PM, United Palace of Cultural Arts
4140 Broadway, New York, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
Anybody interested in seeing Jaws on the big screen at the UPCA? They will begin with a 'beach party', then a Q&A with 2 shark experts. Tickets are $10 online, $15 at the door. If you've never been to the UPCA, it is a beautifully restored movie palace (previously on IRL).
I've only ever seen Jaws on a television screen, but I get sucked into watching it whenever it does pop up, so I imagine seeing on a 50-foot screen with a full audience would be something. Details per the ticketing page linked above:
Experience Jaws on a 50-foot screen and stay for a bite! Before the screening, we're turning the theatre into a tropical Palace with fin-tastic decor and Jaw-dropping activities, but beware of the deep end! DUUUN... DUN.

4pm: Doors & Beach Party On Stage
5pm: Movie + Q&A

The Beach Party will include:
Reef-freshments by Seawalk
Beachwear Fashion Show
Free Lei from our Lei Greeters
Tahitian dancing by Ori Manea
Photo Booth
Sandpits
Tiki by Tuto

Wear your beachwear for a free bag of popcorn, then catwalk on our stage in the fashion show! Floaties and shark costumes encouraged.

Q&A with shark specialist Tobey Curtis and Greg Metzger, facilitated by Alex Horwitz, director of documentary Hamilton's America.

This sounds fun, but I won't know until later tonight if I can make it or not.

Unfortunately can't make it, especially unfortunate as I've never seen Jaws and the existence of sequels leads me to believe that the shark wins and that sounds fun (for the shark).

Sorry you couldn't make it, betweenthebars, I would have loved to see how the movie worked on you.

Just made it to the theater (got on the A train going the wrong direction from Fulton. Decent-sized crowd, including some youngsters who are either well-jaded already or due to be traumatized. Mwah ha ha.
