Jaws Screening at the UPCA
Anybody interested in seeing Jaws on the big screen at the UPCA? They will begin with a 'beach party', then a Q&A with 2 shark experts. Tickets are $10 online, $15 at the door. If you've never been to the UPCA, it is a beautifully restored movie palace (previously on IRL). [more inside]

Miracle on 34th Street at the UPCA
As part of their 'The Women of Fox Film Festival', the United Palace will be screening the 1947 Miracle on 34th Street. (Doors open at 4pm; Pre-show entertainment at 5pm; movie at 5:30pm. The UPCA will have a special holiday presentation of It's A Wonderful Life on Sunday, December 21st. Doors open at 4pm, Christmas caroling and an introduction by Donna Reed's daughter, Mary Owen, at 5pm, movie starts at 5:30pm. Tickets are $10 online (+$2.25 fee), $15 at the door, $5 for children under 12, or free if you're wearing a tuxedo or gown. [more inside]

Guys and Dolls screening at the UPCA
The monthly series of "Classic NYC Movies at the Palace" hosted by Lin-Manuel Miranda continues with 1955's "Guys and Dolls". Doors open at 4pm, stage show at 5pm with guests Eden Espinosa, Joshua Henry, Christopher Jackson, Steven Pasquale, Betsy Wolfe, accompanied by Alex Lacamoire on piano. Movie starts at 5:30, tickets are $10 online, $15 at the door
The Fisher King - UPCA screening
The 'Classic NY Movies with Lin-Manuel Miranda' film series at the United Palace of Cultural Arts theater continues, starting with The Fisher King. Doors open at 4pm, movie starts at 5pm, followed by a Q&A with screenwriter Richard LaGravenese at 7:15. This is a no-charge screening.
King Kong Free at the UPCA
This month's entry in the "Sunday Movies at the Palace with Lin-Manuel Miranda" is the original 1933 King Kong. Doors open at 4pm, pre-show entertainment by the Palace Youth Drum Ensemble at 4:30, Lin-Manuel's pre-show Q&A with John Landis at 5pm, then the movie itself at 5:30. No charge at the door, but this is part of the UPCA's push to raise enough money for a new movie screen, so they will no doubt be pushing for donations throughout the pre-show.
Ghostbusters screening at UPCA
The Ghostbusters screening originally slated for June has been moved up to Sunday, March 23, tickets on sale now here. Doors open at 4pm, stage show & intro by host Lin-Manuel Miranda at 5pm, movie starts at 5:30.
Muppets Take Manhattan big screen screening
