Sun December 18 at 3:30 PM, UPCA
4140 Broadway, New York, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
The UPCA restored movie palace will be screening "It's A Wonderful Life" on December 18th, with an intro by Donna Reed's daughter, Mary Owen, anyone interested?
Doors open at 3:30, there will be caroling, then Mary Owen's intro at 4:00, movie starting at 4:30, and then an afterparty from 7-9 for anyone shelling out the big bucks. But a ticket for just the caroling/intro/movie is only $10 for adults & $5 for seniors & children under 12.

Is this something it's good to get tickets for early?

I'm not sure, SpaceWarp13. There were always plenty of empty seats left at the UPCA screenings I've been to before, but I don't know if this one gets more crowded since they've been doing it annually.

I'll probably buy a movie-only ticket today though -- I miss the days of this movie being in public domain and on tv constantly in December, and I'm really curious to see how it looks on the big screen now that the UPCA has a new projector donated by Lin-Manuel Miranda. All the UPCA screenings I've been to were done by projecting from a blu-ray disc.

Welp, never did buy my ticket, and now I'm too tired out from the pre-Christmas party I went to last night to get myself out of the apartment. Maybe next year I'll get to this screening, finally.

I am still going-- plaid shirt, black pants, grey jacket-- if anyone wants to say hello.
