Portland, ME on THIS COMING FRIDAY?

I know this is ridiculously last-minute, but I'll be at a loose end in Portland, Maine this Friday.
(Edited to add upfront that we're meeting for lunch at Dutch's).
I've never been there before. I'm staying near the airport but intend to do some exploring.
If anyone's up for meeting up -- late lunch, dinner, random walk/coffee/drinks/whatever, l'd be delighted to meet some Portland Mefites. You'll have to suggest a place, though, because I haven't the faintest idea (yet) what to do or where to go.

Wish I could make it. I live an hour away and husband will be working late on Friday. Last meet-ups I attended were at Gritty McDuff's, a pretty decent pub, and the 10th year Metafilter anniversary at Novare Res (which has a very extensive line of microbrews, outdoor seating, but it's pricier than Gritty McDuff's, fyi).

Hey, thanks! I didn't expect anyone to see this in time.
Theoretically, assuming no missed connections &c, my plane gets in at 9:30 am. I'm not renting a car. I guess I'll take the hotel shuttle, stash my stuff, and then venture into town, however long that takes.
I've memailed my phone to donnagirl, theora55, and selfnoise.
(I've really only got the one day -- Saturday I'll be at a wedding, and then I leave on Sunday.)

How about lunch in Old Port, then? Blue Rooster maybe? 11:30? Tangerine, this would put you central for afternoon Portland wandering/sight-seeing, and right on the waterfront. If your hotel is by the airport, you're probably not far from where I live. I could pick you up, and you'd have no trouble getting über or a cab back.

Does Blue Rooster have seating? I've never been there but it looks tiny from the street.
I was going to suggest Dutch's but I'm up for whatever.
I probably won't be able to appear before say 11:45 but I don't mind being late.

That was lovely. Thank you both for company and lively conversation, and extra thanks to theora55 for the driving tour. (Btw, theora, later in my travels I met that Irish wolfhound we saw. He's only 6 months old and his name is Chap.)
