Just in case people haven't checked back on the proposal, I thought I'd make this an official meetup. After consultation with my native guides, I've made an executive decision in favour of the Cedar Street Grill in Dobbs Ferry this Saturday, 6 December, at 1pm. Hope to see some of the Northern NY Mefites there!

Wouldn't it be better to change the proposed thread to confirmed & use the mefi-mail update to let alert the people who don't check their Recent Activity, since Saturday is only a few days away?

Ok, haven't done this before so wasn't sure how to shift something from proposed to definite; it seemed like rewriting would be the least confusing but maybe not. Sorry for double post!

If you update a proposed event, the mefi mail update only goes out to people who RSVPed to the proposed event, whereas notification for a new event goes out to everyone who signed up for alerts about new/proposed events. I didn't RSVP to the other one, so creating the new event was helpful because it meant I got an e-mail notification. Just wanted to mention that to you, Athanassiel, in case it comes up again.
