Board game night at the Windup Space.

Tue October 30 at 6:00 PM, The Windup Space
12 W North Ave, Baltimore, MD, USA (Map & Directions)
Let's see what Monday brings, but it's as likely as not that this meetup will be postpwned by the storm.
The meetup in September was fun. Let's do it again! The Windup Space has a regular board game night on the last Tuesday of the month. Leave a note if you think you can make it.
God of all the days of the week....
I have been looking for something exactly like this, Ive started getting into "designer" board games but have no one to play with. The only problem is Tues nights are swamped for me (girl scout then boys scout meetings back to back).
Maybe I can try but no guarantees and if it becomes a reg thing I will def do this.

I'm in the DC suburbs, so weekdays aren't exactly super-convenient for me either, but sometimes you've got to go to where the party game action is. I might bring Zombie Fluxx or something.

Shawnstring,
I'm always looking for people to play with as well, so perhaps we can found a Mefi game night independently of this, as well.

I would love to, but I don't get back to Baltimore until 9 on Tuesdays, so I'd say I'm probably out.

josher71 originally suggested doing this at the Windup. If someone wants to suggest an alternate time and venue for a board game night, I'm happy to change this one. Or you guys could schedule another one! Board games for all!

I figured we could do the Windup as well as hopefully set up a time for any other boardgame minded people around in Baltimore.

I'm up for this and any other nights. If someone has the base Dominion game, I have the latest expansion that I can bring.

Hello Baltimore peeps!
restless_nomad is coming to the area on the weekend of Oct 20-21 and is wondering about having a meetup. Would any of you be available?
I'm thinking we could maybe bring some (light?) games too, if people are into that. Do you know a food/drink place that would be suitable for some gaming and hanging out?
(I'll post a separate IRL event for this too, just figured I would start here since you're already talking in here.)

youcancallmeal: It's been a couple years since I've played Dominion. It's a pretty fast game (IIRC), but there's a bit of reading involved. Does it make a good pub game?
LobsterMitten: I'm about 50/50, since I'm not quite local. Not sure what to suggest for venues.

This sounds fun but I'm still a maybe for that day. Dominion would be pretty cool (& I have the base game), but maybe hard to do in a pub -- would the tables be big enough for all the piles (min: 17)? Can't quite remember the size of windup space tables.

Sorry to be confusing. I've posted a separate event - if you're free Oct 20-21, take a look.
Baltimore mod meetup Oct 20-21?
Otherwise, return to previously scheduled thread.

I don't think Dominion requires more reading or takes up more space than most Euro-type games. There's also Dixit if anyone is interested.

Dominion would be great. Unfortunately, I don't have the base or any of the expansion packs. But count me as another interested in regular board game nights -- I've been unsuccessfully searching for this.

Great to hear it's open! I hope fun will be had by all. I have to stay here in DC tonight to take care of storm-related things. Not making it to my own meetup must be some kind of special mark of shame.

I'm trying to get the water out of my basement and will almost certainly not be at Windup tonight after all. Thanks, Sandy.

Despite my sign being the size of a napkin and their being at least 10 other bearded fellows there, the game night was a success and it seemed that all the Mefites found each other. Think we're going to try and make it an informal meetup once a month. It was packed and a lot of fun.
