I don't know when or if I'm going to be attending, but at the very least I figured other Mefites would want to know about this. posted by He Is Only The Imposter at 5:33 AM on September 24, 2012
Thanks for posting this! I'll try to drop by at some point, too. (And I may splurge on a green tea milkshake from one of the food stalls while I'm there!)
Oh, cool. I'd never heard of the Boston Comics Roundtable. I've been wondering if there was a club like that in the area. posted by He Is Only The Imposter at 5:36 PM on September 27, 2012
Hey, thanks for posting this. This was the first comics expo I have ever been to, and even though I was a bit overstimulated, I did get to meet R Sikoryak! I didn't read the schedule before attending, so when I saw his name on the bill, I asked someone to point me to his table. I bought a copy of Masterpiece Comics, which he signed and did a little drawing of Charlie Brown as Gregor Samsa! I got to tell him a story about where I first had heard of him, which he appreciated. It was my first fanboy moment. I also got to meet Jay Hosler, who drew Clan Apis, which my son loved when he was in grade school.
And I kept an eye out in the crowd for you, o_a, but didn't see you! Oh well. I had a good time until the caffiene and sugar from the green tea shake, and all the pretty drawings, and all the gabbing people, it all blew too many synapses and I had to leave about an hour later. With COMIX! wooo wooooo!
(I went home afterward and requested more of Jay Hosler's stuff from the library.) The end. posted by not_on_display at 6:57 PM on September 29, 2012
I'm so disappointed that I wasn't able to make it. We'd had a busy morning, and I did have the energy to wrangle my kid along with me. posted by He Is Only The Imposter at 6:18 AM on October 1, 2012
