Love the premise. I might be around in October, although closer to Hamilton is better for me

Love this idea. I recommend the Wooly in Guelph... great food and excellent beer :)

Sounds good, and I'll second the Wooly as a preferred location.
I'm usually free any evening except Monday or Wednesday (not that any sane person would have a meetup on a Monday or Wednesday).

Oh, yes, I am also not available on Wednesdays, but generally available otherwise.

Yeeesssss my precious.....

Personal preferences are earlier weekday evenings or weekend afternoons, e.g. I'd be on my way home by 10p.

I'm in KW but, weather permitting, can venture afield. A nice venue in my area: DVLB (expresso & whisky bar).

I myself, like Sun, Mon, Tues especially as some of these venues are very, very busy on Thur, Fri, Sat. Last two times at Wooly I ended up standing around and couldnt get a seat. Looking at maybe 3rd-4th week of October? Check y'ur schedules.

(Maybe Mefi should have a voting module, to decide these things!)

Hooray! Mondays and Tuesdays I could come, but not until later (after 9), all other days are excellent! Espresso and whisky bar sounds FANTASTIC; I wouldn't mind trying the new Baker St Station if we end up in Guelph again, as an alternative to the Wooly? I've heard great things.

I have also heard good things about Baker St., fwiw

Death Valley's Little Brother is an excellent proposal for Waterloo - I've been there and I like it, there's plenty of space for a group of us. It closes at 11 PM.

Waterloo is closer to me than Cambridge but I can do Cambridge or Guelph, no problem. I can do earlier in the evening or during the afternoons now that the baby is pretty much a toddler and is sleeping predictably.

Depending on my work schedule, I'd like to swing by.

Cambridge works better for me, but K-W is fine.

Unfortunately these days I'm one of those earlier rather than later types (I'd likely have to leave around 9:00ish if it's Sunday-Thursday). Friday and Saturday I can have a normal, adult bedtime.

For fans of the Wooly, the same people own and operate Borealis grill.

It may not be as crowded, and if we're lucky we could get the downstairs lounge to ourselves.

That said DVLB looks interesting.

Lets put a stake in this.

No clear winner, so I am calling Guelph, and the new Baker St Station.
Tuesday October 30th, I dont think anyone had a problem with Tues.
I am going to show up at 7:30 and I am going to stay late this time. I'll
be bringing a book and wearing an orange touque.

Bring your talking points and your rhetoric. I really hope everyone can make it at some point in the evening.

I'm happy to call a Waterloo meetup at Death Valley's Little Brother for, perhaps, an early Sunday evening (5 or 6 PM-ish) if that would do for people's schedules/availability?

This is in addition to njk settling this particular meetup for Guelph.

Oh man, I am doing my annual USA whirlwind trip the week of Halloween, so I won't be able to make this one.

This is happening, right? I might be able to make it.

I had to work super late so pippa and I won't be able to drop by. I'll definitely make the next one (hopefully soon at DVLB!)

Sorry darlings I had to work on some prints. Next one!

Good to see you again, parudox and njk! I liked the venue - thanks for calling this one, njk.

We decided on Sunday, November 25th (starting in the early evening) for the next meetup, and I proposed having it at Death Valley's Little Brother in Waterloo, but I just found out it's only open until 6 PM on Sundays.

Since we've already established that at least the three of us can probably meet up on that date, I'd like to find somewhere that can work for most of us. The problem I'm discovering is that a bunch of the alternatives I'd propose in K-W also close pretty early on Sundays or aren't even open at all.

So right now I have in mind the Huether which is open everyday 'til 1 AM or the Princess Cafe which is open 'til 10:30 PM.

If anyone has any other ideas for location feel free to offer them.

I'll call this within a couple days with a start time of 5:30 PM if that works for y'all.

The Princess Cafe is good by me.

The Huether is run by an insane person who treats her employees like shit and I will not patronise that establishment. FWIW.

Okay, I've called the next meetup, it's over here.

Sunday, November 25th, starting at 5:30 PM, at the Huether in Waterloo (I cleared it with sean that it would be all right).

Come join us! =)
