4700 Cherry Creek S Dr, Denver, CO, USA (Map & Directions)
I just moved to the area and am looking for some awesome folks to hang out with. Naturally, MetaFilter is the place to find them!
Come hang out Sunday, April 1st at 1pm. The venue, The Bull & Bush Pub and Brewery, looks to have a diverse assortment of beer and the appropriate accompaniments for our enjoyment. I've made a reservation under my name, Tracie, for five people. I'll update the reservation as we get closer, of course.
freshwater, I like your enthusiasm! Are there days that are better for you? I should have noted that on weekdays evenings are better.

Yes. Any day but the 28th, and Vine Street sounds like a fine choice.

I might be up for something. It's a pretty busy week for me, but a daytime thing on the weekend would probably work, or I think I've got Tues. and Thurs. nights open.

Definitely! I've been to 2 meetups so far, and they've both been very fun.
Vine Street has been on my list of places to check out, so I'm happy with that. It's cash-only, right?

Most of those dates work for me in the evening. I live near Vine Street, too, so I'm up for that choice. (And yes, it is cash-only, which I find perpetually aggravating.)

Cherry Cricket is great but they don't take reservations. Might be tough for a meet-up. (Walking distance for me though so would work well for me if I'm around.)

I live in Glendale, so anywhere in Cherry Creek is great.
No preference on days.
What about the Bull and Bush? To keep up the microbrewery theme.

Looks like most folks would be happy with Vine Street despite the cash issue. I do know there is an ATM on-site. However, it looks like we can definitely make a reservation at Bush and Bull, which would be nice. I can call Vine Street tomorrow and see if reservations are possible. If so, let's do that. If not, let's do Bush and Bull unless there are other opinions out there?
Once we have a larger agreement on day I'll go ahead and make this a real event.

I am okay (right now -- honestly, work might call) with either day. Vine Street is preferable, but Bull and Bush seems to be eminently bicycleable.

Okay, Vine Street will only do a reservation for 8 or more, and I've left a message at Bull & Bush to see how their reservations work.
Does anyone know if getting a table at Vine Street on a Sunday afternoon would be tough? Or if they would seat someone who shows up early without their whole party? I'm not sure how they operate, but I can always go early to get a table.

Oh, meant to say that yes - Sunday afternoon at Vine Street is usually tough and last I was there I was told I could sit at the bar until the rest of my party arrived. It was only two of us so it was especially stupid to have to do that, but oh well.
PS - some time soon I will need to invite people to help me drink through some wine. I'm sure I can count on all of you, yes?

This NEVER happens - I was just invited to a friend's birthday brunch on Sunday. She's coming to Denver for it from Fort Collins (which is why I rarely see her) and then we're going to the YSL retrospective at the DAM.

I'm still unsure if I'll make it tomorrow. I have a dissertation chapter due very soon, so it depends on how much I get done this weekend.
