I've revived and updated my award-winning one-man show, My Fairy Godmothers Smoke Too Much, a collection of stories about my mostly calamitous adult pursuit of a fairy godmother, and will be performing at the Kranzberg Arts Center on October 10. I explore my possible alien origins, the lopsided insights I've gotten from volunteer work in a porno store, my flirtation with suspected magical beings in the gutter, learning to dance through voyeurism, and other unsettling adventures on my way into haphazard adulthood. I will be giving a talk on Batman villains and the insanity defense as part of a Super Heroines, Etc. event. Super Heroines, Etc. (aka SHE) is a St. Louis-based 501c3 nonprofit focused on empowering women through educational events, classes, and workshops. If that sounds like your kind of thing, then you should come!

Hey St. Louis MeFites, anyone interested in meeting up at Forest Park this Saturday for the Great Forest Park Balloon Race? (I'd much rather go to the glow Friday evening, but unfortunately I'll be at a wedding in St. Charles). [more inside]
