It'll be another packed house at the Maple Leaf Pub as Team MeFi takes on all trivia challengers, and tackles the steak and baked potato dinner and awesome cheese-stuffed jalapeños.
Trivia's at 8, but the house has been so stuffed lately, we need to start arriving earlier to stake out a table, so I've set the start time for 7. Be there or be a regular quadrilateral!

Woo woo! I just noticed that Houston has made it onto the "Most active cities in the past three months" list on the IRL page! We are, in fact, #4. And while it probably has at least a little to do with the fact that our outside temperatures have been so oppressive that everyone has abandoned all activities that don't involve being inside and drinking cold beverages, it's still kinda nice to find some list that Houston isn't down in the bottom 10% of.*
Other than, you know, highest number of wardrobe malfunctions during a SuperbowlTM. Or most number of 100o+ days in a row.
*Yes, I know I ended that with a preposition. It's too hot to care.

I have my tshirt in my car. Ready to go. I was just elected to the LGBT Employee Network at work (yay!) so I have an inaugural dinner tonight before trivia. I expect that's where they give me my tiara and sash. Anyway, I'll be right over afterward, and hopefully I wont be late!

Once again, family drama has conspired to keep me out of tonight's trivia round. However, if our next event will indeed be on September 8th I will be there with a friend visiting from California. Tell Alicia, our bar wench, not to forget about me ;-)

Well. If you ever were curious what happens when two people who don't know pop music get two pop music trivia rounds, Joe and I can tell you all about how much it hurts.
On the other hand - Video Games v Books was a lot of fun, with answers like "The Little Prince of Persia" and "Super Smash Brothers Karamazov."
We didn't win, but we put up a valiant fight for a two person team. If any of you music whiz kids had been there - ahem - we'd have kicked butt.

A 55-point score for a two-person team is pretty darn good. And we ruled the TV theme song round.
