Ahhh...Spring Fever rears its optimistic head in Portland!

Just mentioning that there was a fairly recent meetup at Horse Brass - not that that's a dealbreaker; I mean, the fish & chips are darn good.

I'm fine with revisiting Horse Brass, but also I keep hearing about new places out Beaverton way, or the inner NE area, and I'd be game to check out somewhere we haven't been before.

Either date is fine with me.

Tell us of these new places, Greg!

To be honest my "hearing about" has been passing mentions by other MeFites, and I'm not intimately familiar with either area - anyone who is, feel free to remedy my ignorance. But a quick search turns up a few with a fair amount of seating and a good beer selection; here's a representative example:

- Lucky Labrador in Multnomah Village

- McMenamin's Raleigh Hills

- Alberta St. Pub in the inner NE

(Both Lucky Labrador and Alberta St. Pub have Scottish ales on tap, so those would be my personal first choices!)

For the more adventurous there's ABV Pub in Hillsboro; their tap list includes a few ciders and 8 - count 'em - 8 IPAs along with sours, Belgians, and a smattering of other beers. Oh, and a "CBD water", whatever that is.

I didn’t even know there was a Lucky Lab in Multnomah Village; I’d be super down to check that out, either for this or another get-together.

If it's a meetup chances are good there will be drinking which makes me comfortable with driving. I'd be much more likely to go if it were accessible on public transit.

After working there all last year I've been to a few bars there. Let me investigate some of them.

(Just an FYI that all 3 of the places I mentioned have nearby bus stops)

The Lucky Lab in Multnomah Village is pretty meetup friendly - it is across the street from the Multnomah Arts Center where the weavers guild meets so I usually grab a pint, a slice, and a salad there on guild nights. I believe there is also an upstairs room.

Moving this from "maybe" to "yes," because boy howdy, I need to get down there sometime soon and start apartment-hunting--either weekend, or who knows, maybe both.

Sounds like the Multnomah Village Lucky Lab is a pretty good fit. Let's say Saturday April 13th at 2pm? Any objections?

I am bad at scheduling and ended up double booking time with family visiting from out of town today, so we’re gonna have to miss y’all after all. Sorry about that.
