Hello, Metafilter Pittsburgh! I have recently moved back to the city and would love to hold a meetup next weekend.
I am open to locations but would rather do a bar than dinner. Somewhere around the Lawrenceville/Garfield/Bloomfield/Friendship/Shadyside area is great, Carson St. less so. I have no idea how many here in Pgh are interested so that will determine the venue.
If we have it next weekend, HotPatatta will likely be around as well! I'd love some input as to date/time/location.

I'm interested. Bar at night rather than dinner sounds good to me. But my schedule can be crazy.

Allow me to suggest Church Brew Works in Lawrenceville or the Sharp Edge in Friendship. I'm a big fan of places that I don't have to fight to park at on the weekend.

Silky's, down at the Shadyside end of Liberty Ave, is decent at least from the approximately 5 minutes I spent inside before this week's hash Sunday. And they have shuffleboard.
Harris Grill, on Ellsworth between Summerlea and Maryland, can be crowded, and ridiculously loud if so, but i recall as being hilariously awesome.
Don't know many places in Garfield-East Liberty area---except Kelly's on Penn Circle South, which I've never been to but have heard is awesome---but as we're moving to Garfield in a month I would certainly be open to discovering one.
And, just to throw in a North Side vote, I'd also suggest either Monterey Pub (better food) or the Park House (better beer). I believe both are closed on Sundays.

I might be available, depending on how all this shakes out. I'm also likely to be the first out, though, since we live south of the city and I need to be home earlier than most (i.e. 9 or so). Count mine as a vote for any Bloomfield/Friendship/East Liberty/Shadyside proposal, or Lawrenceville in a pinch.

I (and spouse) should be able to make an east-end meetup. Friday would probably be better but either would work.

Here's information about the bar; I've been there only once before and am excited to go back.
Parking is easy and as I recall there are a lot of tables. I'll call ahead and see if we can reserve a space and post back here.

Okay, made a reservation; we will be at the round tables in the dining area. I will mention to the hostess that it's a Metafilter party and I can make a little table sign or something because I don't know what anyone looks like.

Still can't get used to the Sharp Edge being so clean and well lit. When I first went there it was a dark little dive bar/pizza shop surrounded by abandoned buildings. Now it's expanded to four times the size and there are four other sites.
