It's been years since we had a Jersey City mefi get-together, would anyone be interested in having one before the cold weather really sets in? -- Opting for the Rasoi weekend buffet this time, Sunday 12/2 barring terrible weather.
For anyone new - Rasoi is on Newark Ave aka 'India Square', a few blocks walk from the Journal Square PATH. For anyone coming by car, street parking can be tough to come by, but there is a pay lot on JFK Boulevard. If we have any issues with Rasoi on the day, there are multiple alternative restaurants on the block with weekend buffets.

I would totally be up for this! I’m downtown so your Grove suggestions are easiest but really anywhere in JC is doable (mmm Rasoi). Do you have a particular day in mind?

No particular day in mind - a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, around noon if we did Newark Ave, a few hours later for Grove St. The weekend of December 1st maybe, to get past Thanksgiving weekend? Or Thanksgiving weekend itself if people are around, could be a nice break from turkey leftovers and family.

I would join if by any chance a weeknight appealed to any of y'all and you'd like a New Yorker in your midst. It's easy for me to get there from work but impossible on weekends.

Very faint maybe from me. I'd love to see y'all but I work six days a week and have a 2.5 year old who doesn't do restaurants right now.

Sorry, ferret branca, I'm up for weeknight meetups on the NYC side of the river, but I'd rather this one be on a weekend so I don't have to deal with trying to get to a time & place versus the rush hour traffic (I tend to let multiple trains pass me by at 33rd St station so I can wait for the crowd to thin out enough to be sure of a seat anyway, and I feel like Murphy's Law would guarantee that any weeknight we picked for a JC meetup would end up having some NJ Transit/PATH train disruption clusterfuck.)

Ok, confirmed for 12/2 @ Rasoi. Their official website seems to be down, so I'm not sure what the weekend buffet pricing is these days, but I'll find out and post it.

Hiya, is Sunday 12/2 going to be ok for people still? Looks like it's supposed to rain throughout the weekend, but it doesn't seem worth bumping out a week to avoid it since the temperature is supposed to be in the 50-60 degree range this weekend but back down to lows in the 30s next week.
