2nd is okay.

Storm Crow Manor is a five minute walk from my place. The website feels a bit too-too full of itself but as long as it's not too loud and they don't try rush us out it should be okay. We might want a plan B though as they've just opened and they will probably be busy and not very efficient.

Perhaps as a nearby alternate, Hair of the Dog on Church & Wood (I feel like we've been there before??)

I’m going to see The Allusionist on the 4th! I believe at least one other Toronto Mefite is as well...

But also around on the 2nd after 8:30. So either or both work.

2nd would be better for me, but I'm a maybe at very best. Also, I can't figure out what this place is. It's an immersive experience? It looks halloween-y and I confess I'm such a weenie that I'm scared of the haunted house in Centreville.

Storm Crow Manor seems to be a "geek" themed bar. All of the menu items listed seem to reference sci-fi / fantasy tropes (in a trying-too-hard kind of way). Today is its first day open; I may pop in the door briefly this evening just to get a gauge on what they're really trying to do and what the seating is like.

I have been to the Storm Crow places in Vancouver: It is, in a phrase, a sports bar for geeks. Where Joe's End Zone might have a framed Darryl Sittler jersey on the wall between a signed photo of the '85 Steelers and a hi-def showing ESPN, this place will have a mounted xenomorph head between an autographed photo of Sam Jackson as Nick Fury and a hi-def showing the Animatrix animated shorts.

I agree that the marketing is trying a bit too hard here in its opening days, but I cannot fault them for wanting to err on the side of too much publicity rather than having their investment flounder because no one knew they were there.

I live around the corner from this place and want to try it out. would be good to make my first mefi meetup the occasion. only hangup is that I don't visit this site daily so might miss the reminders. feel free to page me as things become more coalesced. being in the neighbourhood makes me quite flexible about dates.

Friday the 2nd works for me, although I may be pretty tired at the end of the week. I, too, am attending the Allusionist on the 4th, so I can maybe attend after that.

Looks like there's four people from Mefi that will be at The Allusionist on the 4th. Would still be up for something on the 2nd as well, though.

I’m inclined toward the fourth (with all due respect to those who cannot make it as easily or at all then). Partly this is because the 2nd is the second day that SCM will be taking reservations, I understand, so it might be a little more hectic. And for those few of us who face a two-hour-plus trip home after, better to get together a bit earlier on the Sunday than later on the Friday.
