XOXO is happening this week in Portland – we're going to meet up at Ex Novo Brewing on Thursday before the festival opens!
Per cortex:
Let's meet up at Ex Novo Brewing, which is a half-mile or so north of the Memorial Coliseum, starting at 3pm, which is when they open.
They have beers; they have food; they have what should be more than ample seating especially for an early crowd. I'll aim to be there at 3, and to hang out until we variously disperse to get down to the Coliseum for the opening remarks and such.
And Friday being a big open freeform thing, I'm happy to participate in a second-helping MeFi meetup if we want to cobble one together then as well.
I’ll be volunteering and attending XOXO this year, so for once I can attend this meetup as a true XO-er! For those coming in from out of town- what areas are you staying in, and/or what kinds of food or drink are you interested in?

I’m arriving Thursday afternoon and staying at the Canopy! There’s a keynote Thursday night, are we doing this after that or Friday during social time?

I would love to meet up if possible! Staying with a friend in Beaverton, should be generally available. Thursday pre-keynote would be easy for me but will try to make it where/whenever.

I'll be attending this year, not staying anywhere in particular since I'm local but that means I'm pretty flexible, so I'll try to meet wherever works for everyone else.

I'll be there all days, all times, except for a 3-hour window on the first day when my garage door is being replaced. Looking forward to hanging with mefites!

Hey, so, yes, this is nearly here it turns out! I'm not sure there's anything that's gonna accommodate everybody's schedule but it sounds like several of y'all are available Thursday pre-event, so I'm gonna propose we pin it down like so:

I can be there for about 30-40 minutes, then I have a volunteer shift that starts. But I highly approve of this plan!

Steve and I aren't totally sure when we get into town on Thursday (it's a six-ish hour drive from Vancouver, and then there's the hotel to check into and such) so we're also going to be on the late side.

Also in case any non-XOXO-attending MeFites were wondering: you are 100% welcome to, this isn't an exclusive thing. It's not a sclusey. No sclusin'.
For stragglers: I'm gonna plan to hold down the fort as long as is reasonably possible and don't expect to leave Ex Novo before like 6pm at the earliest. Will absolutely update thread with details when things do get around to shutting down.
