I can teach you how to knit pussy hats. We can maybe collect hats for distribution before the March.
If you can tie your own shoes, I can teach you to knit. Please plan to bring 100 grams of worsted weight yarn and size 7 or 8 circular needles, 16 inch length. If you want to make a thicker hat, choose 100 grams of bulky yarn and a 10 or 10.5 circular needle, also 16 inches.

Evenings are good for me.

I would love to get a knitting lesson! I have a huge pile of yarn from past crocheting; all I have to do is get knitting needles. Weekday evenings are ok, as long as it's uptown. (I work in NJ, so I could do 7 midtown/downtown as long as it's not deep on the LES.)

Perhaps this Thursday? Near NYU, close to the West 4th street station? Hopefully that would be far enough in advance of Christmas and then maybe another next week? If near the West 4th Street Station is ok, and a friendly cat is tolerable, then I'm house sitting in a space that would be good for knitting. Can host up to ten knitters on sofas. Would also be happy to do open house style from say 5-11 for folks with different work hours. You'd need to me-mail me for the address though.

This week is all booked up, but after Christmas I'd be into it if there's another go-round.

Sounds fun. I also knit and I'd be happy to help newbies, too. I crocheted most of my pussyhats last year, so I could help people make that version, if they prefer.

I'd LOVE to do this but this Thursday I can't. I'll be on the lookout for the next one. I also knit and can teach.

new march.

I don’t have any info about the New York march, I just keep cranking out pissy hats because I want everyone who is resisting in some way to make themselves visible. I know that’s not safe for everyone, but it gives me feelings that I’ve only seen two or three other people with pissy hats this winter. I wear mine every day now.

Can't make it, but a question - what March?.....

This is such a great idea. Thank you for doing it.

I can make there around 7 if you all will still be knitting then ad if there are going to be extra needles. I don't have any way to buy any near my office.

I can pick up circular needles at downtown if you tell me the size you want. Do you also need yarn? I have ball of cascade and can pickup something, also at downtown yarns. Probably would be 15-20 for cascade plus a needle. I’m house sitting so I don’t have my stash to dig into.

I have a yuge bag of yarn of varying weights, and would be happy to reimburse you for the needles.

And no I don't know which size needle I will need. 😂

Do you have yarn with you? Do you need yarn? Do you knit if you are generally a tight or loose knitter?

Of course. I’m going to teach youbto knit. Bring your yarn and we’ll figure you out! Don’t fret.

I will bring whatever extra needles I have lying around.

I'm aiming to show up around 6pm, pending no work explosions.

We have yarn. Bring if you have. But don’t worry if you don’t.

There’s a cranberry buttermilk bundt cake, an electric kettle for tea, a black cat who likes snuggling and begging for snacks (she’s on a diet but she’s not actually staaaaarving) and pink yarn.

If you’re coming and you haven’t me-mailed me for the address, please do that.

Can't make it this week after all - if it can happen again after the holidays I would love to join. Enjoy!
