I haven't seen any meetups proposed for Philadelphia, so I'm wondering if there is an active enough contingent there to warrant putting one together. Philly MeFites, are you there?

Here! A child has somehow occupied my attention fully for the past 5 years but I think I'm finally ready to go somewhere. In fact if the event is kid friendly I may even drag him along.

I just moved to Philly and would like to meet new MeFites!

I'm here, too. Would love to meetup! Pop-up beer garden? Just a thought . . .

It's been a looooong time since I've attended a Philly meetup or even seen one suggested; I'd love to attend if the timing is right.

Been years since my last one! I know that historically Tired Hands has worked well because we've got a mix of city folk and suburbs folk, but we also had one at the Barcade in Fishtown that was well-attended.

Will definitely be there if the chosen date works!

we used to do board game meetups at frankford hall, but it has been quite a while.

My schedule is super constricted, but I'd go given the right timing. I like the idea of the pop up beer garden at 15th and South-central enough for people coming from a lot of places, lots of space to stake out a table. (And I would like to vote against Tired Hands, if I may; for other carless city folks like me going there eats up a pretty large chunk of day.)

Hey! I'd absolutely be interested, though I'm going to be out of the country from Huly 7-August 5.

I'd also been thinking about restarting the board game meetups, or if someone else would like to take over that would be cool too- the last attempt was a total no-show and I got a little overwhelmed with my last semester of school to schedule a follow-up.

I'd be interested in a meet up as well but depends on the scheduling.

I'm definitely interested, have always wanted to go to a meetup.

The nice thing about Frankford hall was they have a bunch of big tables so we could just show up with as many as we wanted and no reservations as long as it was off hours. The downside is it's Frankford hall.

Are suggestions on where to hold this? Tired hands is nice but usually very crowded, I don't think they could host a decent crowd without reservations.

Count me in

Lots of interest! This is great. The 15th & South beer garden is pretty sweet, though you have to become a PHS member to enter, which I think costs $5. The membership is good forever, FWIW. Haven't been to Frankford Hall, but the proximity to transit and size appear to make it a good fit.

Has anyone been to the University City PHS pop-up?

Philly is a bit far for me, but I have a lot of spare time. So maybe!

I'm in Delaware, so sure, unless I have trouble getting across the border

University City PHS popup takes foreeeeeever to get into, I'd recommend against it.

Bokbar would be another cool option - beer garden on the rooftop of an old school in south philly, with incredible views.

Definitely interested, as long as it's after July 4!

In the interest of not letting this die, how does 6 PM BokBar on July 9th sound? Sunday is family day there, so deathalicious' kid could get in on the action, and the food looks good. I am selfishly picking my weekend off (I only get every other, so the next I'd have would be 7/22-23; I'd be fine with one of those days too if next week is too short notice for people.)

7/22-23 works for me, potentially, unless parental units come to visit, which is totally possible.

I could do July 9 or 22-23. Bokbar sounds cool, but I also love Tired Hands!

I could do the 9th, but will probably be out of town on the 22-23.

South Jersey here: 7/22-23 works for me.

Since the 9th has come and gone, should we make a firmer plan for the 22nd or 23rd?
posted by coppermoss at 11:17 AM on July 10, 2017

I can't do 7/22-23, but don't let that stop anyone! I'll show up for the next one.
posted by grumpybear69 at 12:14 PM on July 11, 2017

22/23 is rapidly approaching, bok is outside and Sunday's forecast doesn't look the best.
What are everyone's thoughts on this weekend?
