Sat May 28 at 8:00 PM, Madison Concourse Hotel
1 W Dayton St, Madison, WI, USA (Map & Directions)
May 27-30: WisCon is a feminist scifi/fantasy convention celebrating its 40th year. This year's Guests of Honor are Sofia Samatar, Justine Larbalestier, and Nalo Hopkinson. There are discussion panels, structured activities, parties and events, $1 childcare, a Con Suite with an array of snacks, safer spaces for People of Color and for trans/genderqueer people, and a dedicated Quiet Place where you can catch your breath and decompress. In particular I'm working this year's Saturday night Tiptree Award charity auction - promises to be a fun show.

I'll be in the audience, thanks to glowing reviews of your last appearance.

For the literary, almost 100 readings from new & established authors (including SFF poetry). Gaming! A vid show and discussion. Panels from 8 to midnight! Meet intriguing folks from the Midwest and the world.

And because we can, a Hamilton sing-a-long.

It's going to be a good time! The panels I've seen so far for this year look great.

As an FYI for MeFites in Madison who are considering attending but might not want a full-weekend con membership, you can get single-day memberships at the door. Friday and Monday's memberships are free (registration required) - you can find details at that link!

This would be so fun. I hope I can make it! Thanks dryad for the heads up about single-day registration. :D

Yay seeing other MeFites!

The WisCon blog is chock-full of useful updates about free food, the pronoun stickers for badges, events, and more.

If you haven't been to WisCon before, the first-timers' dinner is a nice way to have a meal with others!

I'll be in Madison starting Thursday evening.

I'm daytripping on Sunday-- should make the Guest of Honor reading, at least!
